The post-credits scene at the end of The Mandalorian Season 2 saw the returned Boba Fett and his new partner Fennic Shand return to Tatooine and Jabba's Palace to face down Bib Fortuna. Following Bib's untimely end, Boba and Fennec take their seats on Bib's old throne. This iconic scene is being recreated by Iron Studios in their 1/10 Art Scale statue line. And there are two versions to pick from. The first depicts Boba and the top part of the throne, while the larger second piece includes more of the lower portion of Jabba's old dias as well as Fennic Shand sitting to one side of Boba. Both statues are Q2 releases in 2022. In the past, he was one of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy, working for both the criminal underworld and the Empire, thus becoming a legend. After a long time, when many thought he had come to an end by facing Luke Skywalker and falling into the fearsome Sarlacc Pit on Tatooine, he resurfaced in the series "The Mandalorian". recovering his armor and taking from Bib Fortuna the throne that once belonged to the deceased Jabba. With Fennec Shand at his side, he became the new big gangster boss in the galaxy. The bounty hunter sits on a throne decorated with monstrous bronze heads, which meticulously replicates the minimum details of the post-credits scene from Season 2 of the series "The Mandalorian". Thus Iron Studios presents its statue "Boba Fett and Fennec Shand on Throne Art Scale 1/10 Deluxe - The Mandalorian - Iron Studios". This statue features the iconic Star Wars mercenary in his restored Mandalorian armor, with his classic blaster rifle resting on the left arm of the concrete throne, and also features his lethal ally sitting on the right arm of the throne, holding her blaster rifle. The statue faithfully reproduces the features of the Chinese-American actress Ming-Na Wen who plays Fennec. The scene is a preview of "The Book of Boba Fett" another Star Wars spin-off series scheduled for late 2021. During the Republic Era, another legendary bounty hunter named Jango Fett was the genetic donor for the creation of the Clone Troopers, soldiers genetically altered at birth for fast growth and loyalty, and submission to the army of the old Galactic Republic. Fett demanded to receive for the donation, in addition to a sum of money, a single unaltered clone of himself, which he named Boba Fett and raised him as a son. After seeing his father killed in combat by Jedi Master Mace Windu, Boba, unsuccessful in his quest for revenge, was imprisoned on Coruscant. After serving his sentence, he followed the same professional path as his father, working with several other hunters. Elite mercenary and assassin Fennec Shand had her first appearance in the fifth episode of the Mandalorian series, in which she was hunted by Mando and his ally Calican, being saved by Boba Fett in the 14th episode of the series, thus becoming his partner. She helped Boba Fett retrieve his armor and later rescue Grogu (Baby Yoda) to honor a deal. At the end of the mission, she follows Boba to Tatooine, where he takes control of the remnants of the Hutt cartels. We were promised a Star Wars Black Series HasLab project this year, and after a slip of the tongue earlier this week in a fan Q+A, we now have the official confirmation that we will be getting (assuming it gets backed) a 6-inch scale Rancor from Return of the Jedi. Starwars.com have announced the following and shared a picture of the door to the Rancor's pit promising some more details to come in the week's ahead. The towering hulk of muscle who greeted Luke Skywalker in the shadowy pit beneath Jabba the Hutt’s throne room is poised to make a comeback. Although bested by the Jedi in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, this morning Hasbro announced plans to bring the sharp-toothed beast into the 6-inch scale Star Wars: The Black Series line if the brand’s next HasLab crowd-funded campaign reaches its target for production. “Following the success of the previous two HasLab campaigns for Star Wars: The Vintage Collection, our team is so thrilled to offer fans the first-ever HasLab project from The Black Series – the Rancor!” says Michael Ballog, Hasbro’s vice president for the Star Wars brand. “We hope fans of The Black Series line are prepared for this iconic creature to join their 6-inch-scale collections.” In 2018, HasLab launched with Jabba’s sail barge, the Khetanna, which set sail with just under 10,000 backers. Then in 2020, HasLab added the Razor Crest from The Mandalorian, generating enough backers for production in just over a day. Id hedge my bets around £200 upwards and we are likely to need circa 14,000 backers like previous projects. As a crowd-funded project you will have to commit to purchase the item in the backing window and will be charged as that window closes if the project is successful. We are unlikely to see the Rancor itself in collections until the Autumn of next year. There will also be some level of backing rewards which could include additional accessories or figures. Mattel have announced that Scare Glow, from Masters of the Universe: Revelation, will be one of their Comic-Con @ Home Exclusives for 2021. This exclusive edition of Scare Glow (indicating there will be a standard release) will be fully articulated and will include a Glow-in-the-Dark feature. He will include a poseable cape, and additional hands, and will be armed with his Scythe of Doom and a sword that breaks down into a twin blade configuration. The special packaging will feature built-in LED's to help display the Glow-in-the-Dark effect of the figure. The release would have been originally planned for San Diego Comic-Con 2021, but with the actual event cancelled the figure will now be sold on Mattel Creations from the 22nd July at $35. Mezco's 5 Points line is a range of limited articulated figures, with the XL category reserved for larger characters and figures. The XL line launched with Godzilla back in April 2021 with two sets announced from Godzilla: Destroy all Monsters. We now have the next edition, which adds Mothra to the line as well as the Shobijin twins. The set will feature a flocked Mothra figure with articulated head and wings, measuring 9-inch from wing to wing. The Shobijin twins are not in scale with Mothra for obvious reasons. They come with flocked capes and hats. They feature two head options each - one normal and one singing - and interchangeable arms so they can join hands. The whole set is packed in a train case which can be opened, just like the movie, to reveal the twins. Mothra can then be displayed above on a plastic stand. The set is a Mezco Exclusive, so can only be ordered direct from Mezco - they ship internationally. Pre-ordering is now open, and the set will ship between March and May of 2022. Fans of The Mandalorian can look forward to the release of this newly announced Iron Studios 1/10 Art Scale statue of Bo-Katan Kryze. The polystone statue is a 2022 release (Quarter 2) and features Bo-Katan on the planet Trask. Katan is sculpted in her Mandalorian armour, with her helmet in place. She stands ready with dual pistols in hand and on a diorama base that is based on the Trask trawler where she meets The Mandalorian for the first time. On a moon covered by oceans called Trask, is located the port where the galaxy's black market operates. This scenario is where the bounty hunter Din Djarin, also called Mando, when betrayed by fishermen of the Quarren race, who wanted to steal his armor because of the valuable Beskar metal, is saved by three Mandalorians of the Kryze clan under the command of Bo-Katan. This conflict occurs in the 11th chapter of The Mandalorian series, called The Heiress. In this same episode, we are introduced to the leader of the rebel Mandalorian faction, who breaks the rules of doctrine by removing her helmet and exposing her face. Bo-Katan first appeared in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, reappearing in the Star Wars: Rebels animation. In both series, the character's voice was from Katee Sackhoff, who now brings the character to life in person. In the past, the Mandalorians divided into two groups: those who followed the pacifist ideals of their governor, Duchess Satine, and those who idealized their warrior origins, with Bo-Katan, Satine's sister, belonging to the second group. Upon being exiled, she joined a radical group, even partnering with Sith Lord Darth Maul, who betrayed his allies and seized power. To combat the villain's reign, Bo-Katan became the leader of the Mandalore Resistance, joining forces with the Jedi, and this leadership was accomplished when she became the bearer of the legendary Darksaber. With the interference of the Galactic Empire, Bo-Katan ended up suffering a coup and was deposed, which resulted in a civil war in her world. This whole situation generated such dissatisfaction in the Empire that, when they concluded that the rebels would not let themselves be dominated, they promoted the genocide of a large part of the Mandalorians. In the series "The Mandalorian", Bo-Katan seeks to take the Darksaber from Imperial law enforcement agent Moff Gideon, to reassume the leadership of her people and reunite them all, according to her ideals. Inspired by the journey of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Iron Studios have revealed this new 1/10 Art Scale statue of Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi. The statue is not specifically based on an onscreen appearance but rather combines aspects of Obi-Wan's journey and his exile on Tatooine after the events of Revenge of the Sith. Kenobi is posed on top of desert rock with some wreckage beneath his. He is wielding his lightsaber and wearing his Jedi robes and cloak, but with the forearm armour and gloves of his Clone Trooper armour visible. The statue is a 2022 release in the 2nd quarter (April - June) The worn clothing and robe reflect the time and severity of the arid planet Tatooine, where the Jedi Master adopted the name Ben Kenobi to remain anonymous in his exile, watching over the safety of his future apprentice and protégé. With a stern countenance, he has a raised left arm and an open hand, which evokes the idea that the character is using the "Force", the source of his power, and his gift as a Jedi while wielding his majestic blue lightsaber in his right hand. The figure scales a rock-shaped base, with the remains of a technological artifact embedded in its surface. Icon Heroes have announced a new exclusive set of figures in their 6-inch Karate Kid line. The set of four figures will feature four characters from the Cobra Kai Dojo, as seen in the original movie. The figures will include Sensei John Kreese as well as Bobby, Dutch, and Tommy. All the figures feature alternative hand options for varied posings. Originally planned as an SDCC exclusive, the set will now be old online via the Icon Heroes online store as of Monday the 19th of July at 10am PST. That is 6pm here in the UK. Super7 have a new agreement in place with Hasbro to produce action figures from Hasbro licenses. We've seen Ultimates 7-inch figures of Transformers and Power Rangers so far, and now it i the time for G.I. Joe. Super7 will kick off the G.I. Joe Ultimates line with a four-figure wave featuring Duke and Snake Eyes with Timber. They will face off against Cobra Commander, and a Cobra Battle Armored Trooper (B.A.T.). Each figure will feature a selection of hands and weaponry. Duke, Cobra Commander, and the B.A.T. all feature alternative heads. The figures also have a backpack or for Cobra Commander a cape. And the BAT features damaged robot parts. These are, like all Super7 Ultimates, produced based on order volumes. Hasbro have announced another of their 2021 Hasbro Pulse-Con exclusives, a special release of their G.I. Joe Classified figure of Zartan. The Deluxe release features a Zartan, now with the colour changing skin feature depending on temperature - a nod to the original figure. Zartan, as a master of disguise, also includes a selection of alternative faces and heads, including some of our GI Joe heroes like Snake Eyes. The set also features a variety of weaponry. The box itself features a rotating wheel showing the various faces of Zartan, with the front cover opening to reveal the figure itself. The set will be sold during Pulse Con 2021 on Hasbro Pulse. Images have been released for the next two Mattel Jurassic World Amber Collection releases; Doctor Alan Grant and the Jurassic Park 3 Velociraptor. Alan Grant is based on the original movie and will come with two heads, one with his hat and one without. He will also feature the red flare - as used with Ian Malcolm - for waving at T-Rex's. There are also a selection of hands, one with the fossil raptor claw. The JP3 Raptor is fully articulated, including their foot claws, and includes a clear stand for display.
