Thrash Metal band Exodus have teamed up with Incendium for a 'Tales of the Damned' comic book series and a 5-inch scale FigBiz action figure release of the Organist from the series. The first issue of the Tales of the Damned comic is due later in 2021, with the Organist action figure planned as a Q2 release in 2022. The figure will feature 10 points of articulation, a bat sheet music stand, sheet music, a candelabra and the usual display base. Pre-orders are open now direct from Incendium. Tieing in nicely with the HasLab Galactus project for Marvel Legends, Hasbro today unveiled a number of new Fantastic Four figures incoming for the line. They start with a 6 figure wave of retro carded Fantastic Four figures featuring the main characters of Mr. Fantastic Reed Richards, Sue Storm the Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm the Human Torch, and of course The Thing. Marvel's First Family are presented in their classic outfits, with the Human Torch in full 'flame on' mode. They are joined by two bad guys making their Marvel Legends debut, the High Evolutionary and Psycho-Man. This wave is a general release wave and the pre-order will open as of the 10th of August at 1pm EST, that is 6pm UK time. On these pre-orders go live and the full press pack lands, we will update this post with the full details and images. There will also be two Hasbro Pulse Exclusive retro carded figures. These are a translucent Invisible Woman figure, and the depowered Johnny Storm shown some time ago. These too will go up for pre-order as of the 10th of August. Hasbro have announced a brand new Marvel Legends 3-Pack Exclusive heading to Disney Stores. Having teased Cannonball and Domino earlier this year, the new X-Force set will see these two figures released alongside a brand new figure of Rictor. Rictor comes with spare hands, gun, and FX pieces. Domino will come with alternative hands and a blaster. And Cannonball includes both his explosion lower segment and a set of legs. He also comes with a second head option. The set will be exclusive to Disney Store and Hasbro Pulse. It is not clear if this will translate to the UK Disney Stores, particularly with most closing, but it should go onto Hasbro Pulse as of the 10th of August at 6pm UK time. The McFarlane team have shared a new image of their Batman Jokerbot BAF wave, with a focus on the next release of Blight and a shot of the Jokerbot to the side. Blight is the 4th and final figure in the staggered Target (US) exclusive wave. He follows on from Batman Beyond, Shriek, and Batwoman Beyond and should be released in October 2021. Mezco's One:12 Collective Superman was teased earlier this year, and it has now gone up for pre-order with a full look at the figure, and the raft of accessories included in this 'Man of Steel' set. Starting with Superman, and there are a total of 7 head options including one with light-up red heat vision eyes, and another with two slot-in effects pieces to recreate the firing heat vision - either as narrow beams or a wider blast. You also get five pairs of hands and the usual tailored outfit with a cape with an internal wire for posing. The set then has a number of unique pieces all associated with Superman and DC comics. We have a Black Mercy creature that can attach to Superman's chest. Another creature inclusion is Starro who can fix over Superman's head. Other accessories include a Phantom Zone projector, Kryptonite Trophy Display, two punch effect pieces, and a set of three bullet ricochets that can magnetically attach to Superman's chest. The McFarlane DC Multiverse 7-inch figure of Harley Quinn from the Birds of Prey movie was originally circulated as coming at the start of the McFarlane DC line but failed to materialise for the first year of releases. McFarlane have now confirmed the figure is being released with an Autumn 2021 release date and pre-orders now opening across McFarlane stockists. Harley comes in her golden dungarees and pink crop top. She is wearing her roller boots and is armed with her hammer. Also included in the set is an egg sandwich, as well as the usual display base and collectible art card. Recently liberated (i.e. thrown-out-on-her-butt) girlfriend of The Joker, presently wanted dead by just about every lowlife in Gotham City. 2021 saw Lucasfilm celebrate its 50th Anniversary, and to celebrate Hasbro released a number of special waves of 6-inch Black Series figures based on various points of the Lucasfilm history and with packaging to match. The Clone Wars wave saw four new/tweaked figures added to the Black Series line with special blister card packaging based on the original 2008 clone wars 3.75-inch white and blue clone trooper helmet style packaging. The cards are appropriately re-sized for the 6-inch line and carry the character name, artwork, and Lucasfilm 50th logo on an insert at the base of the rounded blister. The back of the card is dominated by the Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary timeline, with the Clone Wars era highlighted in the brief accompanying text. Unlike most other Black Series figures, the card has apparently no room for any character background. "Commemorate the first 50 years of Lucasfilm with figures inspired by Star Wars: The Clone Wars!" The Clone Pilot is a new figure into the line, although essentially it is simply a new head sculpt onto the exiting Clone Trooper body. The odd choice is that Hasbro have chosen the older 2014 Clone Trooper body and not the updated and arguably better articulated 2020 version. This does leave Hawk looking a little bow-legged when posed. The Armour itself is glossy white, cast in the base white colour, but with messy paint apps at the joints where grey has been added for the undersuit. The blue tones of the 501st are added on the shoulder pauldrons, and as a design down the chest - as well as trim on the wrist and knee armour. The paint is not applied as a solid colour, but left with battle damage scratching to symbolise a worn look. This looks great at the shoulder, but the knees and wrists look more like paint errors than weathering. The new helmet piece is proportioned and cast really well and fits perfectly on the existing body. It uses semi-rigid pipework from the mouthpiece that then connects to a control box which is glued to the chest of the body. Both the helmet and chest section are cast in white, with the 501st blue on the trim of the helmet and also used on the chest box. There are also a pair of red wings - one on either side of the helmet crest - that look to be decals rather than painted detail. As a pilot, Hawk technically doesn't need too much in the way of accessories and Hasbro have chosen to arm him simply with a DC-15S blaster rifle. The blaster is cast in very dark grey and is crisp in the detail but with no further paint apps to enhance the look. It fits into the right hand of Hawk, with the left able to grip the barrel for a two-handed grip. The older Clone Trooper body has 18 points of articulation and does benefit from double jointed knees and elbows. The arms work fine with the shoulder pauldron retracting into the body when the arms are raised. The legs suffer a little from the shape of the upper thigh armour and when the legs are raised this can block off kneeling and sitting poses - although the latter is unlikely to be an issue unless Hasbro have a 6-inch Clone Fighter in the works. Had Hawk been given the new body then the issue would have been reversed with some limitation in the arms but with more movement in the legs. The new body would also have helped with overall stability as the older legs do suffer at the ankles when lining the figure up to stand. We have to applaud Hasbro for going with a Clone Pilot at all in this wave, when they could have re-used any of the existing parts for a Standard Clone Trooper. It is unlikely we will see the helmet again soon, but it is nice to see it lined up with the other 501st Troopers.
