The Hasbro Pulse Con 2021 reveals for the Star Wars Vintage Collection kicked off with a second reveal in the new Trooper Pack format, with a set of 4 Rebel Fleet Troopers planned as a Spring 2022 release to face off against the Stormtrooper Pack and to help fill up the halls of that Tantive IV playset. The Rebel Fleet Trooper set includes Captain Antilles and three Rebel Fleet Troopers. The next wave of Vintage Collection general releases will be themed around the prequels and incudes Mace Windu, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka Tano. There is also a new deluxe set for The Mandalorian, with Din Djarin and Grogu packed in with a number of the Maldo Kries spiders. The Hasbro Pulse Con 2021 Transformers exclusive for 2021 is taken from the Beast Wars animated series when Ravage joins the Predacons. The two pack exclusive features a Predacon Ravage with Jaguar mode, as well as a second smaller Decepticons Forever Ravage that converts from a mini-cassette into Jaguar mode. The exclusive set was provided to us free of charge from Hasbro as an advance review The window box packaging includes the Transformers War for Cybertron and Transformers Generations logo as well as side panel and rear art of Ravage. The other side panel includes some background the Ravage and this covert mode appearance. "AFTER THE GREAT WAR, RAVAGE WAS ONE OF THE DECEPTICONS GRANTED AMNESTY AND REFORMATTED INTO A PREDACON. AS COVERT AGENT RAVAGE, HE IS SECRETELY DISPATCHED TO EARTH BY THE TRIPEDACUS COUNCIL DURING THE BEAST WARS. HE IS TASKED WITH TERMINATING THE ROGUE PREDACON CALLED MEGATRON WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE. BUT AFTER THE GOLDEN DISK REVEALS A SECRET MESSAGE FROM HIS LONG-DEAD DECEPTICON LEADER, HE REALIZES WHERE HIS ALLEGIENCE LIES. DECEPTICONS FOREVER!" The inner tray of the exclusive includes more animated artwork of the Transwarp Cruiser, and a slot for Ravage in mini-cassette mode. The figure stands 5.5 inches tall in robot mode and is a combination of black and silver plastic cast parts with paint work added for gold trim on the chest and thighs, and also some red on the belt and eyes of the Jaguar robot head. Ravage also includes two plasters that slot into the grip section of his hands. He is articulated in Robot mode with leg arm and head articulation allowing Ravage to be posed in a number of positions and fighting stances - with or without the twin blasters. Ravage transformers into the Jaguar beast mode in 20 steps, supported by the usual graphical set of step-by-step instructions. In Jaguar mode we have the same head in use, but the figure is now sat on Jaguar legs that are articulated at the knees and ankles - the tail is also an articulated piece. The twin blasters now attach to the rear section of Ravage as boosters and to bulk out the rear of the body above the hind-legs. Also included in the set is the Decepticon Forever Ravage who arrives in Mini-Cassette mode complete with printed detail such as a 60 minute run time and a Japan origin label. The tape features both metal and plastic parts and transformers simply with fold out panels to expose the head, tail and legs. Once transformed a second set of shiny vac metal boosters clip onto Ravage to bulk his slim frame out a bit further. Dave Filoni has become an integral part of the Star Wars Universe over the last decade or more, running the animated shows Clone Wars, Rebels and Resistance and more recently transitioning to work on the live action Mandalorian series with Jon Favreau. It is in the Mandalorian that Dave made his first Star Wars cameo as New Republic X-Wing Pilot Trapper Wolf. Following the short scene in Season 1, Trapper returned for a bigger role in the Season 2 story The Passenger. This role in The Mandalorian has now led to the first Star Wars Black Series Dave Filoni action figure, with Trapper Wolf in his X-Wing pilots gear released as a special Hasbro Pulse Con 2021 exclusive. We were supplied this release free of charge by Hasbro for an advance look at the exclusive release. The release utilises the new Galaxy Collection Exclusive box design established a couple of years ago now with Cad Bane and The Armorer. This includes a fully enclosed box with a black outer sleeve with artwork added to the box in a slightly darker and glossier black. For Trapper this is an image of his T-65B X-Wing. The Black Series logo is presented at the forefront of the box front and beneath this is the source of the figure listed as Star Wars The Mandalorian. This text, and the included Hasbro and Age/Safety logo's are presented in the burnt umber hue used to identify the Mandalorian releases within the wider Galaxy Collection. This burnt umber colouration is also included on the slanted side art panel that features Trapper holding his X-Wing pilot helmet with a small scene above his head of the attack run on The Roost from Season 1's story, the Prisoner. The rear of the box is relatively plain and like the previous exclusives in this format, the black is very prone to damage and oily finger prints. The figure is exposed by sliding out the inner tray by way of the angled art panel. It slides out to the side of the black sleeve with a stark white contrasting colour and inset with burnt umber coloured sections containing the figure and the accessories. Turning the box round also see's the rear of the white insert following the standard release format with another copy of the artwork and a short piece of background text. "A veteran of the Rebellion against the Empire, Trapper Wolf now serves as a pilot in the New Republic. He flies his X-wing as part of a squadron which patrols the outer reaches of the galaxy" The inner tray is held into position by a tab within the outer sleeve and that does hold it in place and stops it being fully extracted from the sleeve. Removing the figure from the box is tricky as there are a lot of ties in place around the figure and accessories that are best disconnected from the back but the inner tray is not the easiest to access, and you will need to traverse the taped side artwork. Of course the purist approach is to keep this exclusive boxed, but for loose collectors there is no indication of Trapper getting a general release at any stage. Trapper Wolf is a full re-use of the older Luke Skywalker X-Wing pilot body that dates as far back as the launch of the Black Series in 2013. The details on the uniform are good, but the overall body shape and proportions are a little out with a wide waist and upper thighs vs a comparably small shoulder width. The figure was sculpted as a young Mark Hammill, and Filoni is of a broader statue and therefore the overall look in a neutral stance without the helmet is not brilliant. The flight suit features a cast orange main body and limbs, and over this we have the painted white vest and chest box. The boots are in gloss black, as are the gloves and we also have a few other cool detailing like the straps around the legs and the piping from the chest box. The paint does have some issues with the white of the vest not covering the orange underneath in places. We also have a murky look to the orange of the lower arms, this is down to the piece being cast in black and overpainted and the orange colour used doesn't give brilliant coverage and also flakes as the elbows are bent. The head captures Filoni with a broad smile and a photo real deco application for what should be a more screen accurate realistic look, There has been some feedback around the head not looking like Filoni, and I think the issue with that is we don't often see him without his trademark hat or without his helmet when he appears on screen as Trapper Wolf. The helmet is the same base shape and sculpt as the Luke and Wedge X-Wing helmets, but cast in a egg-shell green with black wolf icons on either side of the main ridge and further yellow icons and details including the Rebellion logo on either side. These all appear to be decals rather than painted detailing. The helmet is also fitted with a translucent yellow visor and flexible chin strap. The fit over Wolf's head is tight and the chin strap has to be engaged to pull the helmet down so the visor is over the eyes. Once done I personally believe the likeness is much improved once Filoni's face is framed within the helmet. There is also a bit of me that would have loved for a further nod to Dave with the inclusion of a Cowboy Hat accessory. Trapper also comes with a weapon, the A280 blaster rifle as previously included with the Hoth Rebel Trooper. The weapon is cast in dark plastic with no paint apps. It fits snugly into Trapper's hands including a two handed pose. Articulation for Trapper Wolf is of course identical to the 2013 Luke Skywalker X-Wing figure with 18 points of articulation. This includes a couple of extra joints thanks tot he boot cut swivel, and means we do get double joint knees, but miss out on the slimmer elbows and any options of butterfly joints and a twin jointed neck. Our review figure arrived with a few articulation issues too. The elbows were both stuck by the overlay of paint, and issue that wasn't evident on the original Luke or the subsequent re-use for Wedge Antilles. The left knee is overly loose and the ankle rockers also have a bit more play than I'd like so some poses are on the tentative side and Trapper has already had several topples since I unpacked him. The Trapper Wolf exclusive release is a figure that looks brilliant in the packaging, but that does show a few flaws when unpacked including some paint problems, a couple of stuck joints and a few loose joints on the legs. The next DC Multiverse wave from McFarlane is the Dark Knight Returns wave, and features a build-a-figure of Batman's Horse! The wave will feature the Dark Knight Returns Batman who comes with a grappling hook and alternative pair of hands, He is joined by the Carrie Kelley Robin who comes with her slingshot. Superman will feature a 2nd pair of hands. .And the wave is rounded out by the Joker in his white suit, and he will come with an alternative hand and a knife. Hasbro Pulse Con 2021 takes place across the 22nd and 23rd of October 2021, and ahead of the main event, the Hasbro PR team has been kind enough to send us a number of products free of charge as an advance look ahead of the virtual event. "Strike me down with all of your hatred & your journey towards the dark side will be complete!" The Emperor's Throne Room is a Star Wars Vintage Collection Exclusive for the event, sold via Hasbro Pulse in the UK, US, and Canada. The set is packed in a sealed box utilising the original Kenner design - and the Kenner logo - with the rounded silver trim, red Return of the Jedi logo, and scenes on the box made up using Vintage collection figures. Both Vader and Luke Skywalker are used in these illustrations, but as per the disclaimer they are not included in the set. This outer packaging is a sleeve that is held in place by circular adhesive tape - two at the top and two at the bottom. Once released the inner packaging can be slid out and The Emperor and his Throne are revealed, encased in a plastic tray and surrounded by two cardboard pillars that feature Imperial Facilities lighting and deep greys and blacks. At the base of this inner box is a small cardboard drawer that contains a plastic tray that itself houses the accessories for the set, all taped into place by a single piece of tape. The two side panels will then fold outward to create a larger cardboard display piece. These panels now reveal further artwork and imagery from the Throne Room on the 2nd Deathstar. The practicality of these for a more permanent display is something that will need some thought as they do not sit on the ground and therefore all the weight of any other figures added into the space will sit on the cardboard hinges. The Emperor is clipped into one inner tray, held in place by two elastic ties. Behind this is a secondary tray that contains the large circular display window. The viewing window is a plastic piece with a stand so it can be displayed and stood securely outside of the packaging. A cardboard disk is clipped into the frame and decorated with the distanced view of the face-off over the moon of Endor between Imperial and Rebel fleets. The chair is a solid plastic piece and is as detailed as the larger 6-inch scaled version including the padded back section in a darker purple tone, to the controls on each of the arm panels. There is no articulation that would allow the throne to rotate on its circular base. The Emperor is an update to the single carded release, with a natural head expression as opposed to the more manic look on the carded release. He is fully articulated under the soft-goods robe, with the hood a rubbery sculpted piece that holds the robes in place. You also get an alternative pair of Force Lightning hands, Palpatine's cane, and the hilt of Luke Skywalkers lightsaber. Mezco has shared the full details and gallery of their 5Points Mezco Monsters Tower of Fear set. As revealed at Mezco Con a couple of weeks ago, the set will feature five Mezco Monsters of Frankenstein's Monster, Dracula, The Mummy, The Wolfman, and the Sea Creature. Jazwares have shared a group image of the 5 figures that will make up the 4th wave of their Halo 6-inch figures, the Spartan Collection. The wave will include the Spartan Yoroi, as previously announced, as well as two further Master Chief variants. One of the Master Chief figures is reported to be a Walgreens US exclusive, the other from Halo 2 is included as a general release in the wave. They are joined by Yun-A266, and Spartan Yordi. Todd McFarlane has released the details of his next wave of Spawn figures in the 7-inch collector scale. The wave will include a variant of the Gunslinger Spawn, now with a minigun weapon. There is a repaint of The Redeemer, the Dark Redeemer. And a further new standard figures of Soul Crusher. She-Spawn will be a Deluxe release in a similar format to The Clown with what looks to be some impressive weaponry. There will then be a Megafig release of Cy-Gor. Gunslinger Spawn, The Dark Redeemer, and Soul Crusher are preorders from the 20th of October 2021. US retailer Dorkside Toys went a little early with their listing which is where the photos have come from. She-Spawn and Cy-Gor will open for pre-orders next week. It is expected the figures will either be late December 2021 releases or early 2022. Jeremy Winslow, a landowner in the town of Bane was pursued by the wealthy businessman of the town Ed Kemper, who wished to take Jermy’s land. After not being able to get the land by traditional means, Ed Kemper slaughtered Jeremy’s family and framed Jeremy for their murders. Jeremy was hanged for the crime without a trial, but Mammon, demon of wealth and greed and one of the seven princes of hell, came to him when he was close to death and promised him the power to enact his revenge on Ed Kemper. Jeremy agreed and was transformed into a Hellspawn and killed everyone in town except for one individual asked by Mammon to spare. This individual would be the ancestor of Al Simmons. The line will launch with Raphael as Frankenstein's monster and see's Raph with an oversized head, patched up shell, and oversized metal boots. Spinmaster, the license holder for the smaller 4-inch DC figures, is releasing figures and vehicles for the Robert Pattinson The Batman movie, despite its likely 15 / R rating. A new listing on Amazon Germany has given a first look at a set within The Batman series. The set features The Batmobile, Batman, The Penguin, and Catwoman. The set includes a weathered paint job with mud splashes and dirt on the car and on all three figures. This is likely related to a scene in the movie and is also likely to be a variant and potential exclusive. We'd expect standard versions of all three figures and a clean Batmobile to also be released. The German listing does not give any more details or a release date, but early 2022 is most likely. McFarlane is releasing a 12-inch scale Gold Label exclusive figure of The Batman from the 2022 movie, a posed figurine rather than an articulated figure. The piece uses the red and black of the Jim Lee movie poster across the figure and stands him atop a gargoyle base and complete with a stylised backdrop. As with the smaller DC Multiverse releases, this 12-inch iteration will also contain the collectible art card. It has been listed on Gamestop in Canada so far, and following the usual rules on Gold Label exclusives, it will go to either Target or Walmart in the US. Here in the UK, it will be more of a general release via specialist retailers. The release date is 28th Feb 2022.
