Chinese action figure company ZD Toys has been producing licenced Marvel Cinematic figures in 1/10 scale for a number of years, focusing predominantly on armoured figures with an Iron-Man focus. It was recently revealed they are expanding their portfolio to Star Wars through an extended agreement with Disney and one of their first releases will tie in with the upcoming Star Wars movie, The Mandalorian and Grogu. Joining the McFarlane Movie Maniacs series is this new static posed figure of Don Corleone from The Godfather (1972). Hiya Toys have revealed another Rocky release in their Exquisite Super Series. This time round we are in Rocky III and Rocky in his yellow boxing gear ready for the rematch with Clubber Lang. McFarlane has revealed its next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Page Punchers series will be Turtles in Time, kicking off with figures of Leonardo and Donatello in their Samurai armour and packed alongside the comic. The new Marvel Legends Gamerverse Rivals two-pack featuring Venom and Jeff the Land Shark has opened for pre-orders as of the 29th of April 2026. McFarlane has unveiled two new Movie Maniacs releases of Pennywise the Clown from IT: Welcome to Derry. Both are Walmart Exclusives, and essentially the same static posed figure, including balloon, with one featuring black and white paint decor, and the other coming in colour, with a bloodied application. Some 12 years ago, NECA launched its Ultimate action figure format. It took their existing 7-inch line, but applied a standard of collector-friendly packaging, decor, and accessories to create a line that now spans multiple franchises, such as the earliest Terminator, Aliens, and Predator figures to the most recent releases from the likes of Sesame Street and Terrifier. "In 2014, NECA set a new standard for collector action figures with the Ultimate format. Now, we’re going beyond Ultimate with...ULTRAmate!" NECA have now teased a new line of action figures it is calling Ultramate. There are no further details as yet as to if this is a further enhancement of the 7-inch lines to match what McFarlane are doing with the Elite series, or even aspire to the level of Mezco's One:12 collection. Going beyond Ultimate could also mean a larger scale of figures, not a new format for NECA who have done plenty of quarter scale figures in the past. We await more details. As expected, and revealed at the CCXP event in Mexico, are the first Marvel Legends figures from the upcoming 2026 Spider-Man movie Brand New Day. The first of the figures is of course Spider-Man in his new suit and complete with extra hands and web effects. Spidey is joined by a Deluxe Hulk who includes two head options, extra hands and a removable ripped shirt. The set also comes with two larger web effects that allow Hulk's hands to be tied up by Spider-Man. Both Hulk and Spider-Man go up for pre-order immediately at all stockists. They are expected to ship in July 2026. The third reveal was a new Marvel Legends Spider-Noir figure. While it is, of course, linking in with the upcoming Amazon series, it is not directly from the show and is a revisit of the existing comic book figure. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves.
