The Hasbro Marvel Legends Fan First Event on the 1st of March 2023 saw the reveal of a new set of figures celebrating the 60th Anniversary of The Avengers. We can look forward to single figures of 1st Appearance Iron-Man, Black Widow, and Bucky Captain America. There will then be a 'Marvel Riders' type release with Hawkeye on his Sky Cycle. The 60th Anniversary then moves to some 2-packs with Bruce Banner & Grey Hulk, Thor &The Destroyer, Sersi and Black Knight, Spider-Woman Skrull Queen & Super Skrull, and Doctor Doom Monica Rambeou. The reveals were finished with the very impressive 12-inch tall Super Adaptoid. The event did finish with a tease for the next Marvel Legends HasLab project which appears to also be linked to The Avengers 60th Anniversary. The Hasbro Marvel Legends Fan First Event on the 1st of March 2023 saw the reveal of a full new wave of Spider-Man comic-book figures. We can look forward to new figures of Ben Reilly Spider-Man, Chasm, Miles Morales, The Rose, Jessica Drew, Elektra Daredevil, and Tarantula. At this point the Build-a-figure has not been unveiled - nor are there any promo images just yet, or any pre-orders. Spider-Man fans can also look forward to the previously revealed VHS 2-Pack of Black-Suited Spider-Man and Carnage - this set is a Hasbro Pulse Exclusive. The second release in the Spider-Man VHS series was revealed as another 2-pack of Aunt May and Doc Ock. The Doc Ock uses new bendy wired tentacles and these do fit the 2022 60th Anniversary Doc Ock. Mando Mania has started with a programme of new product releases from The Mandalorian. New product will be revealed on the Tuesday before each new episode of Season 3 with the first products unveiled at StarWars.com and including Headphones, Speakers and Tamagotchi products. The Mando Mania event was first revealed by US retailer Target who also have a new landing page within their Collector's Spot for Mando Mania. Their Mando Mania 'event' starts on the 15th of March with new products listed each week. Mando Mania follows on in the same theme as previous evens like Obi-Wan Wednesday, Mando Mondays and the original Force Friday events. The products will be mixed and not limited to Hasbro action figures - we are likely also to see Funko items, products from Jazwares Micro Galaxy Squadron line, as well as roleplay and soft good items. The first reveals from the McFarlane Winter Showcase were a number of new figures from a new licence to the McFarlane stable, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaib. As is often the case with McFarlane the Demon Slayer line will feature both 5 inch and 7 inch figures as well as a 12 inch statue. In the 7 inch series the line launches with figures of Nezuko Kamado, Tanjiro Kamado, and Zenitsu Agatsuma. Each 7 inch figure features character appropriate accessory or powered effect pieces as well as the usual McFarlane circular stand. The same trio of characters get the 5 inch treatment, and they are also joined by Muzan Kibutsuji. The standard figures are presented on a blister card. Zenitsu Agatsuma is a deluxe release and comes with a Thunder Breathing effect. The final release is a posed 12 inch statue of Tanjiro Kamado. He sits on top of a stand, posing him in a leaping position with his sword brandished in front of him. This piece is a boxed release. All of the Demon Slayer releases from McFarlane are slated for an April 2023 release. After being attacked by a demon whose blood entered her body through an open wound, she became a demon herself. Even after becoming a demon, she protects her older brother Tanjiro and other humans. Before she was transformed, she was a gentle girl who loved her family. This 7-inch scale Nezuko figure is designed with McFarlane's signature Ultra Articulation with up to 22 moving parts for full range and posing A kindhearted boy who loves his family. Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps in order to turn his sister Nezuko, who has become a demon, back into a human, as well as to avenge the death of his family by hunting down the demon who killed them. Bandai have a new Deadpool figure on the way as part of the 6-inch scale S.H. Figuarts line. The figure is based on Deadpool's appearance in his 2nd movie and features a plethora of alternative parts including hands, katana swords, guns - including smoking gun effects, and a mutant control collar. The History of the Daleks series has reached the 3rd Doctor era and for 2022 we got hold of the 9th release in the series from Planet of the Daleks. It featured a re-release of the Planet of the Daleks Supreme Dalek and a revised version of the 'Invisible' Dalek from the story. The set uses essentially the same box design as all the previous History sets, including the angled front panel which does partially obscure the Supreme Dalek. There has been one change in that there is no window now for the box, and the figures are held within a plastic tray that is glued to the backing card. This means you can no longer repack these figures once opened as the tray will have to be ripped from the box. We also lose the printed card back that recreates scenes from the storyline. The packaging does retain the very in depth background write-up across the bac of the box covering the story itself and the props used. The Planet of the Daleks Supreme Dalek was one of the first classic Daleks released in the Doctor Who line, appearing in 2008 in the first Dalek Collectors Set. Considering it has been 14 years since the figure was on the shelf, it is a welcome re-release. But it also comes with some improvements on the original with the gold paint job much more metallic this time round. The Supreme also features the same unusual elements as seen on the prop including the torch-like eye-stalk and the wider movie Dalek base to give it more height. We have had a partial Invisible Dalek before, released in 2013 as part of the Toys R Us Dalek & Doctor 2-packs. That release used a clear cast Dalek but it was still partially painted to show the Dalek mid-reveal. This new 2022 version is the full 'Invisible' Dalek cast entirely in clear plastic including the eye stalk, weapon, and plunger. The downside of utilising this sort of translucent plastic is the revealing nature of the inner workings of the toy. You will see the inner joints and parts - but overall the 'Invisible' look does work and the finish is pretty cool, especially when back lit. The Planet of the Daleks set isn't an army-building set like some of the History of the Daleks releases but it does bring us a re-release of a very limited Supreme Dalek last sold some 14 years ago and gives the figure an updated metallic paint job. The invisible Dalek is also a new substantial variant without the partial paint job applied to the 2013 version. While the packaging updates are a little annoying, particularly for in-box collectors who have the full line to date, the set is still giving great value for money and bringing classic Dalek figures back to the masses. The Eighth Doctor Collectors Set was part of the B&M Doctor Who releases for 2022, released in the Summer alongside the Tenth Doctor Set. It is packed in the usual grey window box with TARDIS blue trim and TARDIS line art design. The box carries the foil 'Limited Edition' sticker on the window and the red flash that confirms the scale as 5.5 inches. The back of the box is entirely made up of text with a very in-depth write-up on the 8th Doctor and his appearances in the original 1996 TV Movie, his roles in the Big Finish series, and his return for the 50th Anniversary in the Night of the Doctor. The first figure of the 8th Doctor is the costume he wore in the 1996 TV movie and was originally released in the Character Toys line in 2010 as part of the original 11 Doctors Collectors Set. The likeness to Paul McGann at the time of the TV movie is good but remains the basic painted likeness keeping it in line with all the other figures from across the range. While there are some minor paint variations vs the original release, the look overall is pretty much identical. Figure two is the Big Finish 8th Doctor and his 2010 costume featuring a pair of jeans and a blue overcoat. The figure is the same as released in 2019 as a B&M/Big Finish exclusive set - utilising the 9th Doctor body and the head from the Night of the Doctor. This new 2022 release does present a much better facial paint job and looks much more like McGann. It also comes with a satchel which is a nice addition. The third figure is another re-release, this time of the 2015 Night of the Doctor figure as seen during the 50th Anniversary. It features some slightly different coloring on the jacket in particular but it is missing the bandoleer and goblet that were originally included. Out of all the figures, the Night of the Doctor figure features the best articulation, purely on the addition of a shoulder joint that can open outward as well as rotating around the torso. The joints remain quite basic and with very visible pins at the shoulders and elbows. Posing options are limited. The 8th Doctor Set ticks the box for Collectors by bringing three fairly sought-after figures back to the market, and at a time when McGann's stock is quite high thanks to his appearance during of the Jodie Whitaker 'The Power of the Doctor' finale. As is fairly standard with B&M sets there are no accessories as such, even though all three Doctor's have hands shaped to hold a sonic screwdriver. There are no significant paint variations for those with the original figures to worry too much about, but the inclusion of the Big Finish costumes satchel is something we haven't seen before in the line. Announced directly on the back of the new McFarlane DC Multiverse Titans wave is this Gold Label Exclusive figure of Beast Boy. This more regular-sized version of Garfield Mark Logan is wearing a classic 1980s-inspired red & white costume. McFarlane's DC Multiverse Titans Collect-and-Build wave has opened for pre-order and with that comes a full gallery of the four figures - Donna Troy, Arsenal, Nightwing, and Raven - and the build-a-figure Beast Boy. Donna Troy is packed with her sword and the arms for Beat Boy. Arsenal will feature his bow, arrows, and quiver and comes with the legs for Beast Boy. Nightwing comes without any weaponry which is a shame considering he is depicted with his batons on the included art card. The body of Beast Boy is included in the box.
