The 6-inch scale figure will feature four different head options, the usual plentiful supply of hand options, a fitted hooded suit with sneakers, and a spider mask for her to hold. It also has a large number of accessories including a Multiverse Portal - smaller pieces include a cell phone, notebook, and backpack. Ghost-Spider also features effect pieces with a Spider-Sense piece and a selection of webs. The release is completed with the usual display base and post. NECA have released the full details of their Ultimate Creature from the Black Lagoon, part of their Universal Monsters line and based on the classic 1954 movie. The Creature will include three head options and three pairs of webbed hands. The figure is the first of two releases, this one being in color and the second release a black & white version. The fourth week of Mando Mania saw two more Star Wars action figure reveals as well as a new roleplay item. In the Star Wars Black Series, there is a new Deluxe 'Build Up' set incoming this Autumn (2023) containing Luke Skywalker and Grogu as seen in their scenes during The Book of Boba Fett. The Luke figure does not appear to be a direct re-release of the Mandalorian Luke Skywalker, while Grogu is tweaked as well. The set features some scene-appropriate accessories including Luke's lightsaber, Yoda's old lightsaber in a wooden case, a wearable backpack in which Grogu can sit, a training remote, a blast effect, a rock and stand for Grogu to leap over, and a frog for Grogu to chase. The UK price is listed as £44.99 and this is a general release. This Luke Skywalker reveal now seems to have established the pattern that the Mando Mania Black Series reveals are very much in line with the Book of Boba Fett pipeline characters, meaning we can also expect the future Mando Mania reveals to include Krrsantan, the Pyke Syndicate Trooper, and Cad Bane. The next logical step from the McFarlane Warhammer 40k Space Marines was to expand into the realms of Chaos, using the base Marine body and parts to create those Marines who have turned from the path. The first of these was the Black Legion Chaos Marine and the unpainted Artists Proof with an unhelmeted head. This Artists Proof version would then go on to get the full pained treatment as a Gold Label Exclusive and in the colours of the World Bearer Chapter. The World Bearer Marine is packed in the standard WH40k packaging with the addition of the foil Gold Label sticker on the front window. The figure itself follows the same base as the other McFarlane Space Marines but is fully embellished in line with the allegiance to Chaos Undivided. This includes spiked shoulder armour, a central skull on the chest section, further skull designs and chaos pointed stars on the leg armour and a Chaos star belt and ragged cloth skirt. The body is coloured in deep blood red with grey silver detailing and some further paint applications with the brown leather skirt piece, strapping and belt pouch. A World Bearer decal of the flaming horned skull is applied to the left shoulder armour. The World Bearer is not wearing a helmet and is instead a sculpted deformed head with a single horn and wearing a steampunk vibe mouthpiece and breathing tubes. The sculpt itself is pretty good, with deep-set eyes and ridges and veins across the bald and scarred head. The issue is sadly with the painting which is really basic. The skin tone is a single flesh colour with no added washes for definition. The eyes are a throwback to older school figures with a simple white painted base and black half-dot pupil. In the current world of Photo Real decor, this does sadly let this figure down in terms of overall aesthetics and doesn't really fit with the decor across the rest of the figure. The articulation, considering the size and bulk of the armour, remains good with movement in the arms and legs and some degree of variation available in the posing when brandishing one or both of the included weapons. The joints do feel a bit loose in the hips with the ratchets not quite engaging as tight as I’d like. For a figure of this weight that may become an issue down the line. The World Bearer is armed with a wicked looking spiked Power Mace and a Plasma pistol. Both items are cast in a grey with no added paint apps, so again like the head they look a little basic. Something as simple as a black wash or dry brush metal tones would have made them look so much better. Like most Marines to date, the hands are very tight in terms of getting these weapons into a grip. After some time struggling and swearing with the hands and weapons I resorted to the trusty hot water method to soften the fingers first. The World Bearer Chaos Space Marine is a good example of what this line is very good at in terms of impressively sized figures with good paint work on the armour at a very lean price compared to other lines on the market. Sadly, McFarlane is a little way behind on face painting and doing this one without a helmet has highlighted that as an issue and will see some collectors steer away when they see it in hand - or will see those confident reaching for a paintbrush. As we reach the release of DC's Shazam! Fury of the Gods, McFarlane have been promoting their 7-inch DC Multiverse figures from this latest DC movie. We had already seen the Shazam figure, and now the team have unveiled a new Wonder Woman figure as part of the Fury of the Gods series. Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman's appearance in Shazam! Fury of the Gods was recently revealed in a new TV spot trailer and this accompanying figure reflects that appearance by repurposing the original Wonder Woman 1984 figure with what appears to be updated thighs, and a new head sculpt with a removable tiara. She also includes two versions of her Lasso of Truth, one unfurled and the other wound up. Both Shazam and Wonder Woman are listed as April 2023 releases. At this stage this pair represents the entire Shazam 2 line - so it is nowhere nearly as expansive as the recent release of Black Adam or indeed the upcoming Flash movie. Released at the same time as Figrin D’an, Nalan Cheel is an exclusive deluxe figure sold by Hasbro Pulse and Disney Stores. Nalan is essentially the same figure as Figrin D’an but this release comes with alternative hands and three new instruments to complete the Modal Nodes lineup. The Deluxe box is wider than its standard counterpart while retaining the height, depth and overall shape so the side artwork will line up if you are keeping these in box. Like Figrin D’an, the figure itself is really well sculpted and is a fantastic-looking recreation of the Bith musicians we see in A New Hope, and all the subsequent Bith we have come across throughout the saga. The paintwork depth is focused on the head with black glossy eyes and some darkening skin tones around the mouth ridges and the central head ridge. The mouth is designed to be an actual opening, and this lines up and accepts the reids of the wind instruments - without looking too goofy if one of the other instruments is being played. The costume in contrast is quite plain, but again in line with the onscreen appearance. We have a cast black torso, grey trousers and gloss black boots. This deluxe set allows for a wider set of instruments so it includes all three of the wind instruments included with Figrin D’an - the Kloo Horn, Dorenian Beshniquel (Fizzz), and Fanfar. We then have the larger instruments for the band - the drums as played by Sun’il Ei’de, the Omni Box played by Tech M’or, and then Nalan Cheel’s instrument the Bandfill. These larger instruments are also cast in a base metal or grey colour like the smaller wind section. There is a set of black legs on the drums and you also get a tiny pair of drumsticks. The Omi Box is cast with a stand and a circular stool. There are also a pair of sculpted foot pedals and a base with some red/copper wiring running up into the instrument itself. The Bandfill is a brown base colour with grey sections to the side and front and a grey mouthpiece and a further reid that slots into Nalan Cheel’s mouth. Nalan Cheel includes four pairs of hands to help handle these instruments. You get the standard gripping hands as included with Figrin D’an which allows the figure to hold all the wind instruments. There is a set of smaller gripped hands for the drumsticks, a flat pair for the Omin Box and a final set of partly open gripping hands that cup and hold the Bandfill. Articulation is sufficient for the figure to hold and perform with any of the instruments in question including being able to sit on the stool to play the Omni Box. The way Hasbro has executed these sets, you can choose the extent of your Modal Nodes setup - having just a duo if you wish, up to the full complement of 7. The cheapest way of doing this is by sourcing 6 Figrin D’ans and then stumping up for just one Nalan Cheel whose exclusivity makes him a little bit harder and quite a bit more expensive to get hold of. If you do this you will end up with a raft of Gloo Horns and Fanfars in your bits box - but the final display will look awesome. At this stage, I have sourced four members and will see how I go with filling in at least two more so that all the instruments are used. McFarlane's DC Multiverse releases for the upcoming The Flash movie have opened for pre-order giving us a look at a number of characters and outfits from the latest addition to the DC movie stable. Be aware this article contains spoilers! The main wave for the movie contains two figures of the Flash, one entitled 'Speed Force' Flash and the 2nd called the 'Batman Costume'. Both feature Speed Force effects. We then have two Batman figures - one of the Michael Keaton Batman, and the other an armoured Ben Affleck Batman. Keaton Batman comes with a Batarang, grappling gun, and that all-important soft goods cape. They are joined by a figure of Sasha Calle's Supergirl - and a surprise inclusion of Dark Flash, who up until this point had not been part of the movie's promotional activity. Supergirl will include a clear flight stand and an alternative pair of hands. Dark Flash has no accessories. We had seen the Batmobile from The Flash previewed a few weeks ago and this is now unveiled fully and measures 22 inches / 60cm long. It can seat a 7-inch figure and is retailing around $70 in the US and circa £60-£65 here in the UK. This is already selling out in its first day so is going to be very highly sought after. Another vehicle in the line is the Batcycle - again scaled to seat a full-size 7-inch figure. The final three reveals for the movie are Gold Label exclusives, starting with an unmasked version of the Keaton Batman. This is a Target US exclusive, but here in the UK is likely to get a wider release as per the usual arrangements for Gold Label releases by UK distributor Bandai. There is a similarly designed 12-inch statue of the Keaton Batman which is exclusive to the McFarlane store. The final reveal is a 7-inch scaled Batwing which dwarfs the Batmobile at an enormous 34 inches / 85cm long. It is supplied complete with Batman logo flight stand so it can be displayed in flight. It is a McFarlane store exclusive with a $249.99 retail price. While McFarlane currently only ships in the US, it seems this too will be distributed in the UK to McFarlane stockists via Bandai UK. All the Flash movie figures & vehicles have a later April 2023 release date - apart from the Batwing which is dated for May. We may also see some of these, most likely the figures, on store shelves in Smyths who have also carried the more recent DC movie figures including The Batman and Black Adam (this is speculation and not confirmed by any sources as yet). From the Flash (2023) movie comes an action figure of the Dark Flash. Designed with Ultra Articulation with up to 22 moving parts for a full range of posing and play. The figure also comes with a collectible art card with character art and biography as well as a base. The Batmobile long forgotten and hidden away in the dark recesses of the Batcave, the Batmobile remains one of the greatest weapons of Batman’s crimefighting past. The iconic Cantina Band, Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes have finally made their way to the Star Wars Black Series and Hasbro have enabled us to achieve as big or as small a band as we wish by splitting the figures and instruments across two releases. The first of these is Figrin D’an who is a single boxed release in the Galaxy Collection under the A New Hope banner. He is number 4 in that series and was released in 2022 as part of Wave 8 of the Galaxy Collection. Hasbro do a great job of any alien in the Black Series, and the execution of the Bith head sculpt on Figrin D’an is excellent. The proportions are spot on as is the paint job to give the skin some definition around the ridges of the mouth section and down the central ridge of the head. The gloss black eyes are a stark contrast to the salmon pink of the rest of the head. There is even a small opening in the mouth which is very useful as we will see shortly. The rest of the body is fairly standard stuff with a black cast plastic torso and tunic and some grey trousers, and black boots. The hands are coloured in a similar skin tone to the head with a darker shade in the recessed areas and lighter colouring on the ridges and veins. This single Figrin D’an release is packed with three of the Modal Nodes instruments, allowing you to select which musician you are representing. The first of these is the Kloo horn as played by Figrin D’an and by Lirin Car'n if you are going the whole hog. You then have the Dorenian Beshniquel (Fizzz) as played by Doikk Na'ts. And the final instrument is the smaller Fanfar instrument played by both Ickabel G’ont and Tedn Dahai. Each instrument is cast in a base colour and then has some detail added on top including silver trim on the Dorenian Beshniquel and a gunmetal wash on the Kloo Horn and Fanfar. Each instrument has a small reid that fits into the opening on the Bith head mouth. The fit is not overly secure but with a bit of effort, the reid will stay in the mouth. The hands are then designed to hold the main body of all three instruments and there is sufficient movement in the arms and legs for some ‘in the moment’ performing poses. This is essentially a musical army builder arrangement and providing you are happy that all the Bith are identical (which they pretty much were in the movie) you can buy up to 4 of these to replicate a good half of the Modal Nodes- for the wider band you will also need to corresponding deluxe Nalan Cheel figure. Out of all the options available to Hasbro to bring us the Modal Nodes - this one feels the one of least resistance. Thankfully It is not a huge box set with a big price tag and it is a general release, not an exclusive, allowing collectors to choose to buy one or multiples depending on how big your Modal Nodes ensemble will be. Super7's Disney Ultimate Series has reached Wave 5, and this latest batch of figures is based exclusively on the 1977 movie The Rescuers. The two-release wave kicks off with Penny who will have two head options and alternative hands. She also comes with a sword, diamond, skull with gem, Teddy, and Lantern. She also comes with mini-figures of Miss Bianca, Bernard, and Rufus. Joining Penny is a 2-pack of Bernard and Miss Bianca. The latest 6-inch scale Mortal Kombat release from Storm Collectibles has been revealed as Nightwolf. He will feature three head options, five pairs of hands, and is armed with his axe, spirit arrow & lightning effect. Nightwolf is open for pre-order, including via Storm UK, and has a Q3 2023 release date. NIGHTWOLF is one of few Earthrealm mortals with a strong connection to the spirit world.
