Following the first episode of the Marvel Secret Invasion series on Disney+ Hasbro have shared images of two new Marvel Legends figures from the show. Nick Fury is listed as including 7 accessories. The images show two of these as a handgun and a 'smoking barrel' effect. The hat is also removable. Talos will feature alternative Skrull head ad hands. Tamashii Nations have released some preview images of a new Star Wars 'battle damaged' Darth Vader S.H. Figuarts figure from Obi-Wan Kenobi. Medicom have revealed this new MAFEX release of John Wick, based on his appearance from John Wick Chapter 4. The figure features two head options as well as swap-out parts to display him with or without his suit jacket. There are also a set of weapon options including katana, nunchucks, axe, handgun, and dueling pistol. John Wick Chapter 4 is number 212 in the MAFEX line and is a March 2024 release. Medicom have unveiled two new DC MAFEX releases, Batman and Bane from the Knightfall story. Batman (Knight Crusader) will come with three head options, a wired cape, and a grappling rope. Bane will include two head options. Bane is #214 in the MAFEX series, with Batman #215. The figures are down for a June 2024 release. Based on the Batman: Knightfall storyline from DC Comics, this MAFEX Batman action figure is highly articulated with several features and accessories. The Diamond Select Toys Darkwing Duck figures previewed a couple of months ago are now listed as an official pre-order with Diamond stockists. We originally assumed Darkwing and Negaduck would be single releases in a wave. It is now confirmed this will be a Deluxe 2-Pack of both characters as well as alternative heads, removable hats, and alternative parts and accessories. Sadly, as is often the case with Diamond the official listing does not illustrate the full contents of the box so we are assuming it is similar to the original preview image contents. Revealed as part of the Target Summer Geek Out Collector Event is a McFarlane DC Multiverse Gold Label Dark Knight Trilogy 'Jokerized' Batman figure. It is a recolour of the original Dark Knight Batman figure and comes with Batarang accessories, a circular display base, and the Bane BAF parts - also in a 'Jokerized' finish, indicating we can look forward to Scarecrow and Two-Face in the same finish. “it's capped with an elaborate headpiece in the shape of the sun with a crystal in the center.“ An Indiana Jones action figure line like Hasbro’s new Adventure Series was always going to have a very heavy focus on Indy figures and variants, and while there are a number of different looks to his iconic adventure outfit there have also been a number of disguises and other looks from the films which are just as recognisable. In Summer 2023 Hasbro extended their Raiders of the Lost Ark figures with a release of the Map Room Indiana Jones, as seen in the Tanis scenes from Raiders. The figure is an exclusive, sold via Target in the US and the Fan Channel in the UK. The figure packaging is plastic-free and carries images of the figure on the front, side and reverse as well as a limited checklist of the other Raiders of the Lost Ark releases to date. Out of the box we are presented with Indy in his desert disguise complete with wrapped headgear and flowing robes. Like most Hasbro exclusives - both in the Indy range and elsewhere - the figure is a bit of a kitbash with the arms taken from the Salah figure and the legs from the standard Raiders Indy - this last one making perfect sense as Indy is wearing this disguise over his usual clothing. The chest is sculpted in keeping with the robes on the arms but looks like it is missing something at the shoulders leaving the joint very exposed and somewhat throwing the look of the figure. The skirt piece is a softer rubber added over the base legs and secured at the waist joint. The figure is predominantly cast in the base colour of the outfit but we do get sand-worn weathering around the sleeves and the lower half of the robes. The head is most likely tweaked from the other Indy releases, replacing the usual hat with the wrapped headgear which encompasses the full head and then flows down the front of the figure as far as the waist. The likeness to Harrison Ford is good, with photo-real decor applied over the top to increase the realism around the eyes as well as the texture and shadows of the facial features, and to recreate the unshaven look. The figure does present as one of the best executions of the Ford/Indy likeness to date. The figure has quite an extensive set of accessories starting off with a re-use of the shovel and rope from the Sallah release. The shovel has varied decor while the rope is more or less identical. You also get the same satchel as seen on the main Raiders Indy which comes on the figure but can be removed if you wish. The new pieces for map-room Indy include his notebook which includes a red painted spine, elastic band fastening, and definition between the cover and pages. And of course, we get the Staff of Ra and headpiece which is made up of a brown staff and golden - and quite well-detailed - headpiece inclusive of the red gem at the centre. Map Room Indy has 19 points of articulation including the use of butterfly shoulders which are sadly a little too visible on the figure. The robes prevent a huge amount of dynamic movement, but there is enough scope in the upper body articulation to wield any of the accessories - most importantly if you are recreating scenes having Indy hold the Staff of Ra. The Map Room Indiana Jones works relatively well in the main with the look of the figure around those shoulders being the significant visual issue. Considering the Indy movie universe and the options for scenery pieces, this set does feel as though it should have been a deluxe set and come complete with the map room for display. Of course, Hasbro may choose to do this in the future as they have done with the Raiders Indy and the Temple Escape set - the frustration here would then be the forcing of collectors to double dip. One for those who are all-in on the Indy Adventure Series and love recreating scenes as the figure looks great with Sallah, but equally an exclusive that can be skipped for those focusing on key characters and outfits from each film only. Revealed as part of Target's Summer Geek Out are two new McFarlane Spawn releases. The new Gold Label figures are a variant paint update of the 2020 Ninja Spawn figure. There will be a standard release and a limited 'Signature' Edition that will include a signed art card by Todd McFarlane and is restricted to 1000 units. Both figures feature a pair of nunchucks, a pair of hook swords, and the usual circular base. Target has these as a July release. "I'm sorry, commander. I told him everything." Clone Commander Jesse, as seen in The Clone Wars, was released in the Star Wars Black Series in June 2023. He is an exclusive release, sold via Walmart in the US and available via the Fan Channel in the UK and other territories. While an exclusive, Jesse is still part of the Galaxy Series Clone Wars Collection and is number 12 in the series. Jesse is a plastic-free release and comes in the standard Phase 4 box with deep yellow accent colour and artwork assigned to The Clone Wars. Jesse is based on his Clone Wars Season 7 appearance and utilises much of the ARC Trooper figure established in 2021 with Echo and used again in 2022 with the Phase 1 ARC Trooper and Umbra Trooper. The chest piece on Jesse appears different with the pouch on the opposite side to the previous figures. The body and armour are cast in white with black inserted segments around the joints. Grey trim is used on the pauldron, chest piece, gauntlets and leg armour and a grey line marking has also been included on the kama skirt section. The 501st markings are painted over the top of the armour with the arm and helmet striping done so that it looks scratched. Paint details are finished off with coloured indicators on the left wrist and some gun metal parts on the rear ARC trooper backpack. The helmet carries the Republic symbol, as sported by Jesse on screen, and also includes the range finder which will swing down over the visor. Like most modern Clones the helmet is removable but the fit is a bit tight so beware of paint rub on the head. The head looks new with a bald iteration of the Temuera Morrison Clone likeness we are all familiar with. The photo's real decor adds the usual level of realism, and in Jesse’s case also applies the symbol of the Republic tattoo offset over his left eye and temple. The figure uses the newer Clone Trooper body that boasts 21 points of articulation while executing the joints less visibly within the overall sculpt and also negating the need to paint the joints which has led to messy paintwork in the past on the original Clone Trooper releases. Jesse is fully mobile within the confines of his armour, kama and pauldrons and exhibits a full range of upper body and arm articulation. The legs remain more restricted with the shape of the thigh armour and the kama severely limiting movement to some wider stances only. Jesse comes with a pair of DC-17 blaster pistols which can be stowed in the working holsters or held in each hand. Hasbro are still sending out dual blaster-wielding clones with only the right hand having a trigger finger, so once again Jesse suffers from an awkward grip on the left hand. The blasters themselves are unpainted with limited detail. There are no other weapons included which is disappointing considering the RRP of Jesse and what we have got previously with other ARC Trooper figures - although Jesse is consistent in terms of content with the Umbra Operative. Jesse is another great addition to the 501st and Clone Trooper collections and is executed to a high standard with good paintwork, likeness to actor Temeura Morrison, and articulation even though the latter is somewhat restricted in the leg posing. The accessories are disappointing in terms of their finish and the lack of anything other than the small pair of blasters - and again the issue with the left-hand grip has not been addressed. Jesse is certainly not hanging around as he comes into stock with several stockists already out of stock - one to act on now, otherwise secondary market prices are likely to jump unless Hasbro has more stock on the way.
