The Hasbro SDCC 2023 Star Wars Panel had a number of new collector reveals across both the Vintage Collection and the Black Series. The Vintage Collection reveals included a Disney Store Exclusive Life Day Chewbacca. From Rebels, we have a new Grand Admiral Thrawn. From the Clone Wars a Pre Vizsla. Darth Revan from The Old Republic, And a Hasbro Pulse Exclusive Imperial Officers 4-Pack. From Ahsoka (DIsney+) the Vintage reveals included Ahsoka, and a Sabine Wren deluxe pack with a raft of accessories and Loth Cat. Vintage Collection Pipeline figures in the works include Axe Woves, Mandalorian Fleet Captain, Din Djarin, and Grogu from The Mandalorian. There is a sequel figure of Finn, a Rogue One Cassian Andor, and two prequel releases with a Phase 1 Clone Trooper and Count Dooku. The HasLab project of The Ghost was also finally confirmed. It will come with the Phantom shuttle and a Hera Syndula (carded), with the tiers made up of Ezra, Kanan, and Zeb. The Black Series will see an Autumn 2023 focus on the Disney+ Ahsoka series with figures of Ahsoka, Sabine Wren, and Hera Syndula. The Ahsoka collection releases should be window-boxed and will use a blue accent colour. Oher Black Series reveals included the new R2-D2 resized figure within the mainline as part of The Mandalorian series. the next wave of Holiday Series figures with Jawa & Salacious Crumb, Ewok, Mandalorian Scout, Purge Trooper, Snowtrooper, and KX Security Droid. The most exciting news was perhaps the Black Series pipeline news which confirmed a Droideka Destroyer Droid and B2 Super Battle Droid are in the works, along with an Attack of the Clones C-3PO head on Battle Droid body. There was also a set of Amazon Exclusive Pipeline figures from Jedi: Survivor with Inquisitor Cal, Inquisitor and Purge Trooper. The big (literally) reveal at the Hasbro Star Wars panel was the next Star Wars HasLab project, The Ghost from the upcoming Ahsoka series. While the Ghost is designed using the ship as it will be seen in the Ahsoka series - it does have plenty of nods to Star Wars Rebels. The Ghost will measure 28 inches by 34 inches and stands 13 inches tall. It features opening cockpit and crew compartments as well as rotating turrets, landing gear, and opening front ramp. The package also includes a Phantom II shuttle that docks into the Ghost. And to piot the ship, you will receive a Rebels Season 4 Hera Syndula carded figure, with card art based on the mural of the Ghost crew from Season 4. Collectors across all of the Hasbro Pulse territories have until the 7th of September to place their order - with The Ghost costing $499 / £499 which will be charged just after the 7th assuming the Ghost meets its 8000 minimum backers. Should the project exceed 8000 units there are three further tiers, each one adding another Rebels carded figure to the project. Over with Medicom at SDCC 2023 we have a handful of new MAFEX figures being previewed. From Marvel we can see new figures of Daredevil, Spider-Man 2099, Wolverine and Cyclops. McFarlane are bundling up all the live-action Batman into a new DC Multiverse 7-inch set. The set will include figures of Michael Keaton's Batman from the original 1989 movie, Val Kilmer's Batman from Batman Forever, George Clooney's Batman from Batman and Robin, Christian Bale's Batman from The Dark Knight, Ben Afflek's Batman from Batman vs Superman, and Robert Pattisons Batman from The Batman. The set also includes a Batsignal with interchangeable lenses. Each Batan also comes with a collector's card and circular stand. While many of these figures have had single releases, McFarlane have confirmed that Clooney and Kilmer are exclusive to this set. The 6-pack is a general release, and is due for an October 2023 release. Batman The Ultimate Movie Collection 6 pack includes six 7" scale Batman figures based on past Batman movies: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight, Batman and Robin, Batman Forever, The Batman and Batman (1989). San Diego Comic-Con 2023 will run from Thursday the 20th of July until Sunday the 23rd of July 2023. Our coverage will kick off at the same time, and this will be remote commentary as we are not attending the event in person. All the SDCC 2023 coverage will be available through our Convention & Events feed. Our coverage will focus predominantly on our usual areas of 6-inch action figures from TV, Movies, and Games with a focus on the likes of Hasbro, McFarlane, NECA, and Diamond Select. The news will be shared once available from these suppliers as press releases, and we will also share key news from the convention floor as shared on social media from attendees - where known we will always endeavor to credit the owner of the original photo. Syndicate Collectibles is a new name in the Action Figure collectors market, but it is being headed up by Jerry Macaluso formally of SOTA Toys and Pop Culture Shock. The Jada Toys booth at SDCC was previewing new 6-inch action figures in their exciting new Streetfighter line with a look at the Series 2 M. Series 2 of the Pacific Rim: Uprising 'Special Ops' Series was unveiled at SDCC and went up for immediate pre-order at Diamond Stockists. The Hasbro SDCC 2023 Preview event gave us a first look at the previously announced Hasbro Pulse Exclusive G.I. Joe Classified Series 788 H.I.S.S. Fire Team Troop Builder 3-Pack. The set includes a H.I.S.S Officer, Range Viper, and Trooper We also got our first look at the Cobra H.I.S.S. Tank packaging and promotional images We have also got sight of a new Python Patrol female Ninja complete with bow & arrow and skull mask, And a Tiger Force Flint figure. Shown at SDCC 2023 Preview Evening for Marvel Legend was this Deluxe release of Detroit Steel. It is based on the MCU Iron Monger figure and is a Hasbro Pulse Con Exclusive later this year (photos by MCUCollector). Also, snook into the Hasbro Preview event displays is this new female Hydra trooper comic book figure (photos by MCUCollector). As we get closer to the 2024 release of the highly anticipated Disney+ animated series X-Men 97, Hasbro have shown off a handful of Legend figures from the series. These will be updates of existing figures, presented on a blister card back. Gambit, Rogue, Storm, Storm, and Magneto were shown off by Hasbro with a Cyclops and Bishop also apparently incoming (details from ToyingAround) The heavily leaked Marvel Legends Disney+ wave has now also been publically revealed. It includes the previously announced Nick Fury and Talos from Secret Invasion, Agatha Harkness from Wanda-Vision, Yelena Belova and Kingpin from Hawkeye, Warrior Gamora, Goliath, and Hydra Stomper from What If?, the latter being the Build-a-Figure for the wave.
