The Hasbro Pulse Con 2023 virtual event was held at 4.00pm UK (11am ET) on Friday the 22nd of September 2023 on the Hasbro Pulse YouTube Channel. The G.I. McFarlane Toys have announced two new Spawn figures incoming to their 7-inch line. Arriving in October 2023 is Dispuptor with diorama base, effects pieces, stand, and art card. He is joined by Reaper who features removable wings, alternative hands, scythe, stand and art-card. At one time, Jason Wynn was considered Al Simmons’s Boss and friend. Little did Al know that Wynn was plotting Al’s death as a sacrifice to Malebolgia. After Al returned as Spawn, Jason Wynn schemed and planned but continually lost to Spawn. The Star Wars panel was split into segments for Vintage and Black Series with the team focusing initially on the Vintage reveals. Before they got going the team took a look at the Star Wars Black Series bodies within the Selfie Series, as well as a look at the Starkiller Force Awakens exclusive set which will go up for pre-order at the end of the event. Following the Vintage Collection reveals came the Black Series segment starting with the Archive Collection and as promised via a pipeline reveal a few events ago we can look forward to Luke Skywalker X-Wing, Darth Vader, Bo-Katan Kryze, and an Imperial Stormtrooper These Archive figures are not going to be offered in the US and sold internationally only. They are blister-carded as per the Archive Collection standard. They won't be going up for pre-order just yet and are 2024 releases. The reveals then moved onto Ahsoka from Disney+ and we can now look to add new figures of Baylan Skoll (#09) as well as his apprentice Shin Hati (#10). These are Spring 2024 releases in the mainline and are live for pre-order as of the 22nd of September. The Black Series premium role-play line will continue with the release of Sabine's Lightsaber in 2024. It is based on the Ahsoka series including Sabine's adjustments to the weapon. It is a Premium FX Elite release. The other role-play release revealed is the Captain Rex helmet. Complete with weathering and tally marks. The range finder is moveable and includes FX attached. Both of these items are Spring 2024 mainline items with pre-orders live as of the 22nd of September. There were also pipeline teases as is now standard for these panels. The Hasbro Pulse Con 2023 virtual event is streaming from 4.00pm UK (11am ET) on Friday the 22nd of September 2023 on the Hasbro Pulse YouTube Channel. The Star Wars panel was split into segments for Vintage and Black Series with the team focusing initially on the Vintage reveals. Before they got going the team took a look at the Star Wars Black Series bodies within the Selfie Series, as well as a look at the Starkiller Force Awakens exclusive set which will go up or pre-order at the end of the event. The gaming theme continued into the reveals with the first Vintage figure to be unveiled a twin pack of redeemed Jedi Knight Revan and HK-47 from the Galaxy of Heroes videogame. Inside the boxed twin pack, each figure comes on individual cards to fit in with the Vintage Collection theme. The set is a Fan Channel exclusive and will be released in Spring 2024. From Rogue One comes a new 3.75 inch Director Krennic using the new Imperial Officer body. Krennic is a Spring 2024 release. The reveals then moved to the latest Disney+ show for Star Wars, Ahsoka, and features a new figure of Chopper with an interchangeable scanner and the tracking device seen in the show. Chopper is a Spring 2024 release. Huyang is also getting a brand new figure including his backpack with interchangeable arms as well as his datapad and tools. The Hasbro Pulse Con 2023 virtual event streamed from 4.00pm UK (11am ET) on Friday the 22nd of September 2023 on the Hasbro Pulse YouTube Channel. The Marvel Legends panel was split into comic book and MCU reveals, with the MCU element very much focused on Spider-Man: No Way Home and the long-rumoured No Way Home wave. The new wave, a January 2024 release, will follow suit with the recent Across the Spider-Verse wave and will come blister-carded without a BAF figure. The wave will be made up of new figures of MJ, Matt Murdock, and Sandman. There will also be new figures of each of the Spider-Man including unmasked heads. The Tom Holland Spider-Man will come in his suit from the end of No Way Home, while McGuire and Garfield are the same figures as included in the No Way Home 3-pack. The wave is then supplemented by two deluxe releases of Green Goblin - complete with masked and unmasked heads and Goblin Glider - and a Doc Ock as seen in Spider-Man 2. "You believe that, or is that what you were engineered to think?." The Star Wars Black Series are slowly working their way through some of the key Clone Trooper characters, with a particular focus on the 501st legion and the latest two releases for 2023 are those of Clone Commander Jesse and ARC Trooper Fives. Fives is an exclusive release, sold via Walmart in the US with a wider Fan Channel release in the UK and elsewhere. The figure comes in a windowless box and sits under The Clone Wars suite of the Galaxy Collection. Fives is number 16 in that collection and uses the yellow accent colour assigned to The Clone Wars. The ARC Trooper figure has been around since 2021 having been first released as Echo and then used for the Phase 1 Clone Trooper, the Umbra Trooper, Jesse and now Fives. The body is that of the newer Clone Trooper which uses a modular construction to limit painting and to give a cleaner transition from the white of the armour to the black undersuit. The figure also features the ARC Trooper dual pauldron and the Kama shirt with integrated dual-blaster pistol holsters. The 501st blue markings are the bulk of the paint application with blue panels down the arms and legs as well as some grey on the gauntlets and shin armour inclusive of a neat set of yellow, green and red controls on the left glove. The suit is completed with a backpack fitted to the reverse, cast in grey and with gunmetal silver details. The helmet is removable and painted in the same way as the armour and aligned to the markings we see Fives use in the show with a crescent pattern above the visor sitting above a red dot. The helmet also features gloss black paint on the visor and vents, and a moveable range finder. A fully sculpted head of Fives is included under the helmet utilising the existing Temura Morrison head sculpt with a flat top of hair and the ‘Fives’ tattoo to the side of the right temple. Facial print technology is utilised as is now standard to enhance the likeness and realism of the head, particularly around the eyes. Fives beard does lack a bit of detail compared to the face and is quite glossy and angular. Fives is armed solely with a pair of DC-17 blaster pistols which are the existing sculpt, cast in black plastic and with limited detailing. They can be stowed in the holsters on the belt, or handheld. The right-hand does feature a trigger finger for the most suitable grip, but the left hand is still missing that trigger finger so the grip doesn’t look quite right - although there seems to be some movement in this for future figures with the more recent Commander Appo finally featuring a blaster grip left hand. Articulation is fully pinless and 21 points in total including some newer additions like the dual joint neck and butterfly shoulder joints. The kama and pauldrons do limit some of the movement, but all in all, Fives can hit a number of poses including more dynamic stances with his blasters. As with all the other figures using this Clone Trooper body to date, the knee and elbow pads can look strange when the legs and arms are posed as they are fixed in position and don’t move with the joint. The release of Fives expands our 501st Clone Wars characters even further and while the figure offers nothing new as such, the paint decor and head sculpts ensure the right level of variation between these characters while the armour design and colour still provide the uniformity of a military organisation. Like most of these Clone Characters, Fives would benefit greatly from an updated left hand - and we can be partly thankful that this appears to now be coming as seen on Appo. Other than that there is little to fault other than the exclusivity of the item, the slightly inflated RRP vs. a standard release, and the availability with demand appearing to outstrip supply - although restocks do now appear to be happening.
