Jazwares have announced their next batch of Jazwares Vault Exclusives arriving for collectors to order on the 29th of May 2024. Within this next batch of products is a new Star Wars Micro Galaxy Set of the Starfighters previously released in Series 3 including two versions of Poe Dameron's X-Wing, Anakin's Jedi Starfighter, General Greivous Starfighter and the Clone V-Wing. These are individually packed and then presented in a collectors box. The set is limited to 1500 units. And the Jazwares Halo line is receiving two new 2-packs with a set featuring Tartarus and Prophet of Mercy, and a set including Noble Six and Elite Zealot. These are boxed with an opening front cover. These are not marked as limited. The great news is that the Jazwares have also confirmed that shipping to the UK and Canada will also be available as of the 29th of May 2024. Hasbro's Marvel Legends team have hosted a short video reveal today showing off the next figure in their Marvel 85th Anniversary series. The Hulkbuster had been 'leaked' through Amazon text listings a few weeks ago - and is now officially confirmed in full with pre-orders opening on the 22nd of May 2024. Hulkbuster is a mainline release. This classic Hulkbuster stands over 9 inches tall and features a removable domed head and an alternative Tony Stark head to fit in its place. There are also alternative hands, a removable chest piece, as well as rear exhaust pieces. Revealed jointly by Star Action Figures and SithLord229 is this new Star Wars Black Series wave of Archive figures heading our way with a late August 2024 release. The wave will include re-releases from The Mandalorian including the latest Grogu with pram, and Luke Skywalker from the Imperial Cruiser. We also have a release of Ahsoka Tano from Ahsoka and the wave is concluded with a Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi from The Phantom Menace. Like the last full wave of Archive Releases, these are not going to be available in the US and sold through the European market only. NECA's Cristopher Lee Dracula figure from the Horror of Dracula was first previewed at New York Toy Fair 2023. We now have the full review of this Ultimate release which comes with three head options, alternative hands, shovel, and two candlestick accessories. Hiya Toys have announced an updated release of their Exquisite Basic Skull Crawler figure from the Monster-Verse. This newer figure is based on the Skull Crawlers we see in Godzilla vs Kong (2021) and that are being used to test Mecha-Godzilla's power. The figure has been updated since its original Skull Island release with an updated neck joint and an extra tongue accessory. The new Skull Crawler will be a Quarter 4 (Oct-Dec) release for 2024. "This is the Clone Wars" The 2023 Ahsoka series featured a series of flashback scenes taking Ahsoka back into the events of the Clone Wars and giving us a close look at live-action variants of several Clone Troopers. These included a Phase I Clone Lieutenant, a trooper not seen since the wide shots of the grand army of the Republic were leaving Kamino during Attack of the Clones. And there was also a look at one of Ahsoka's own 332nd Clone Troopers as seen during the final season of The Clone Wars. Hasbro now has an extensive catalogue of Clone Trooper variants and while both the Phase I Lieutenant and the 332nd Trooper have been released before these flashback appearances provided an opportunity for re-releases inclusive of the more recent improvements to the Clone Trooper figures. And so was created the exclusive 2-Pack sold by Walmart in the US and available through Fan Channel retailers in the UK. Here in the UK, it began shipping in May, arriving in a double window box with its slanted side featuring a combined artwork panel showing both figures. It uses the Ahsoka colour scheme on the artwork and supporting text, but it is not numbered nor does the montage art connect to any other releases. The C|one Lieutheant was first released in 2020 on the original pinned Clone Trooper body, with this new version getting a full update to the newest iteration of the Clone Trooper body inclusive of upgraded looks and articulation. The Trooper is constructed with white cast armour pieces connected by black joints representing the undersuit, with the blue of the Lieutenant added as additional paintwork across the armour and with a worn finish inclusive of scratches to reflect this as a Lieutenant who has seen action. It is based on the first of the Flashback scenes during the Battle of Ryloth so the markings are updated to the specific Ahsoka scenes, losing the circular symbols on the chest armour. The Phase I helmet uses the same principles as the armour with a white cast base with blue painted decor and a black gloss visor. It is removable with a fully sculpted Temura Morrison clone head beneath complete with facial print technology to enhance the likeness. The helmet is a good fit without being too tight and also holds its proportions well with no obvious signs of warping which can present as an issue. The 332nd Clone Trooper uses the exact same body as the Lieutenant with markings in the same blue but with a differing pattern and again reflective of what we see during the latter Flashback scenes of Ahsoka (Episode 5) as she re-lives the events of the Siege of Mandalore. This includes solid blue on the two shoulder pauldrons, an inverted 'V' pattern on the chest and blue trim down the leg and around the knee armour. Like its fellow Clone, the 332nd Trooper's blue paint is chipped and scratched to add wear and tear. The 332nd features a removable Phase I helmet, cast in white with black visor and grey trim. The orange markings aligning the 332nd Troopers to Ahsoka are overpainted onto the helmet and also feature some scratching and rougher edges but not to the extent of the blue colouring. Under the helmet, we have the exact same head as the Lieutenant, the Temura Morrison Clone Trooper generic look with flat top black hair and facial print tech to enhance the realism. As both figures are essentially identical, you can swap the helmets between the two Troopers if you want some variation in any Troop building activity using this set. The blue on both figures is identical and while not strictly screen accurate, the variation looks impressive. Our Troopers are armed with the standard DC-15S Blaster and DC-15A Blaster Rifle included for our pair of Clones to wield. Both weapons are the newer sculpt featuring crisp details, but no paint apps with each blaster left in the base dark grey plastic. The newer body now thankfully includes trigger fingers on both hands allowing both weapons to be held in either hand. Articulation allows for two-handed grips for both weapons both in a slung or firing position. The articulation across the newer Clone body is the best combination to date, with 21 points of articulation plus two hinged pauldrons allowing the arms to be fully raised and lowered. The arms include the return of a bicep swivel as well as a new butterfly joint and this is what gives the extensive options for holding either of the two weapons. The elbow armour remains fixed and while this doesn't impede articulation it can create a slightly odd aesthetic. Similarly, the legs have a wide range of options, including the ability to kneel. The earlier Clones using this body type had fixed knee and elbow armour which did look peculiar when posed. Unlike the arms, the leg knee armour has now been left mobile within the joint and is no longer fixed. This helps the look of the leg when the knees are bent by allowing the armour to be aligned to the movement rather than sitting extended outward and away from the other half of the leg. This new Clone Trooper two-pack has very few flaws to speak of, providing Black Series collectors with upgraded models of the Lieutenant and 332nd Trooper and more Clones for their Clone Army with the option of some variations by swapping helmets across both figures. This newest version of the Clone body is impressive. The price point too is good with the set retailing as low as £42 at Fan Channel retailers and Hasbro Pulse themselves listing at £45. The only significant odd choice around the set is the packaging and the initial choice to sit it in the Ahsoka collection. I understand the flashback context, but like Commander Appo the figures would be better suited within The Clone Wars collection - unless of course, we do have a younger Ariana Greenblatt Ahsoka incoming to display with this Clones? Once that decision was made, the secondary decision to not number this within the Ahsoka collection or provide it with connected artwork is also a bit disappointing for boxed collectors. "I am humbly requesting the New Republic to send a patr...." R4-6DO was an R4 Astromech Droid employed by High Magistrate Greef Karga on Navarro, appearing in Season 3 of The Mandalorian during Chapter 21, The Pirate. The droid had a minimal role in the story but has still provided an option for Hasbro to utilise their newly developed Astromech base figure to re-create this new droid as an exclusive release for The Mandalorian collection. R4-6DO is an exclusive at Target in the US and sold via the Fan Channel elsewhere. In the UK it was a May 2024 release arriving in the window box slant side packaging with the deep orange colour assigned to The Mandalorian releases. R4-6DO is number 35 in the Mandalorian collection following on directly from the Mandalorian Fleet Captain, and before the repack of Paz Vizsla. Our new R4 droid is the third Astromech off the production line using the newer larger body that Hasbro has brought into circulation. It does however feature a new dome and the first release across the entire line that uses the conical R4 dome with all previous releases being either the R2 or R5 cariation. This bodes well for future releases of other R4 units such as R4-T8 from Attack of the Clones, or M5-BZ from The Clone Wars. R4-6D0 features a base white body with inserted coloured panels in orange and silver. The legs are red with more orange trim and silver mechanical detail. The new dome piece is also a white base with further orange and red panels as well as a gloss black photoreceptor. A silver trim circles the joint between the dome and the body. All of the decor is well-painted and crisp, but there is no weathering or additional wear & tear. R4 features articulation at the dome, which rotates, and at the legs which are jointed at the 'shoulders' and the ankles allowing the legs to pose the droid in a number of positions. You can extend these poses with the third extendable leg that pulls out from the base of the main body. This travelling leg includes the ability to rotate and also features an articulated ankle. There are more moving parts on the main body with two upper opening orange panels that hinge outward. Beneath them, and to each side are two doors that open to show the inner grey workings of the Droid with each door inclusive of three sockets. While R4-6D0's scenes in The Mandalorian did not show the droid using any tools or extendable components Hasbro have still included these within this release. You can choose from four tools inclusive of a couple of manipulator arms, a welding torch, and the scomp link. All four of these fit into any of the six available slots. R4-6D0 also includes the internal storage function with the dome pulling upward to reveal an internal gun metal silver central column into which the four tools can be stowed and therefore stored away with the droid. All in all, R4-6D0 is another great Astromech release in the Black Series line, perfectly replicating the onscreen droid despite its limited screen time. It is a good companion piece for High Magistrate Greef Karga, or within a wider Mandalorian display. The droid also represents future opportunities for more R4 releases, and you can never have too many droids! Hasbro has confirmed another pair of re-releases in the Star Wars Black Series in the shape of Clone Captain Rex and Commander Fox. Neither figure will see its packaging updated, so these will simply be re-issued in their original Phase 3 packaging from 2018 (Rex) and 2019 (Fox) including their original numbering Captain Rex, based on his Clone Wars appearances but converted to a real-world setting with Temura Morrison's likeness, will come with a removable helmet and twin blasters. Fox will feature twin blaster pistols as well as the two larger rifles. Both figures are down to release in September / October 2024. They are currently only listed at US retailers, looking at the information coming from the UK retailers these are not being distributed directly into the UK due to the minimum order quantities, there will be some available through imported stock but at a premium. Hiya Toys have revealed a brand new Exquisite Basic figure of King Ghidorah, as seen in the Toho Godzilla vs King Ghidorah movie from 1991. The 33cm (13 inches) tall Ghidorah has a massive 47cm wingspan (18.5 inches) and is fully articulated including all three of the heads.
