"I am humbly requesting the New Republic to send a patr...." R4-6DO was an R4 Astromech Droid employed by High Magistrate Greef Karga on Navarro, appearing in Season 3 of The Mandalorian during Chapter 21, The Pirate. The droid had a minimal role in the story but has still provided an option for Hasbro to utilise their newly developed Astromech base figure to re-create this new droid as an exclusive release for The Mandalorian collection. R4-6DO is an exclusive at Target in the US and sold via the Fan Channel elsewhere. In the UK it was a May 2024 release arriving in the window box slant side packaging with the deep orange colour assigned to The Mandalorian releases. R4-6DO is number 35 in the Mandalorian collection following on directly from the Mandalorian Fleet Captain, and before the repack of Paz Vizsla. Our new R4 droid is the third Astromech off the production line using the newer larger body that Hasbro has brought into circulation. It does however feature a new dome and the first release across the entire line that uses the conical R4 dome with all previous releases being either the R2 or R5 cariation. This bodes well for future releases of other R4 units such as R4-T8 from Attack of the Clones, or M5-BZ from The Clone Wars. R4-6D0 features a base white body with inserted coloured panels in orange and silver. The legs are red with more orange trim and silver mechanical detail. The new dome piece is also a white base with further orange and red panels as well as a gloss black photoreceptor. A silver trim circles the joint between the dome and the body. All of the decor is well-painted and crisp, but there is no weathering or additional wear & tear. R4 features articulation at the dome, which rotates, and at the legs which are jointed at the 'shoulders' and the ankles allowing the legs to pose the droid in a number of positions. You can extend these poses with the third extendable leg that pulls out from the base of the main body. This travelling leg includes the ability to rotate and also features an articulated ankle. There are more moving parts on the main body with two upper opening orange panels that hinge outward. Beneath them, and to each side are two doors that open to show the inner grey workings of the Droid with each door inclusive of three sockets. While R4-6D0's scenes in The Mandalorian did not show the droid using any tools or extendable components Hasbro have still included these within this release. You can choose from four tools inclusive of a couple of manipulator arms, a welding torch, and the scomp link. All four of these fit into any of the six available slots. R4-6D0 also includes the internal storage function with the dome pulling upward to reveal an internal gun metal silver central column into which the four tools can be stowed and therefore stored away with the droid. All in all, R4-6D0 is another great Astromech release in the Black Series line, perfectly replicating the onscreen droid despite its limited screen time. It is a good companion piece for High Magistrate Greef Karga, or within a wider Mandalorian display. The droid also represents future opportunities for more R4 releases, and you can never have too many droids! Hasbro has confirmed another pair of re-releases in the Star Wars Black Series in the shape of Clone Captain Rex and Commander Fox. Neither figure will see its packaging updated, so these will simply be re-issued in their original Phase 3 packaging from 2018 (Rex) and 2019 (Fox) including their original numbering Captain Rex, based on his Clone Wars appearances but converted to a real-world setting with Temura Morrison's likeness, will come with a removable helmet and twin blasters. Fox will feature twin blaster pistols as well as the two larger rifles. Both figures are down to release in September / October 2024. They are currently only listed at US retailers, looking at the information coming from the UK retailers these are not being distributed directly into the UK due to the minimum order quantities, there will be some available through imported stock but at a premium. Hiya Toys have revealed a brand new Exquisite Basic figure of King Ghidorah, as seen in the Toho Godzilla vs King Ghidorah movie from 1991. The 33cm (13 inches) tall Ghidorah has a massive 47cm wingspan (18.5 inches) and is fully articulated including all three of the heads. King Ghidorah is a general release (outside of Japan) and is due to arrive in the 1st Quarter (Jan - March) 2025. The Second Item of Original Classic Godzilla! Following the teaser image in late April, we now have a full set of preview images for the S.H. Monsterarts Skar King from Tamashii Nations. As seen in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Skar King features his spine whip as well as the usual alternative parts including at least two head sculpts. Announced by Hasbro Pulse on their social media channels is this new Cletus Kasady Carnage figure based on the 2021 Sony movie, Venom: Let There Be Carnage. This new movie Carnage comes with two head options, tendril accessories, with a wire armature like Doc Ock, and swap-out hand parts to convert the hands into weaponry. Hasbro has confirmed a May the 15th date for pre-orders to open and it has been clarified that this is not an exclusive and should be available at usual stockists. It has been over a year since the Star Wars Black Series Ki-Adi Mundi was revealed. While it was listed at the time as a Spring 2024 release, further information over the last 12 and a bit months has been limited and there still has been no official pre-order through Hasbro or any of the Fan Channel retailers who will be carrying the figure.
