  • SDCC 2024: Hasbro Transformers reveals including Studio Series, Legacy, and crossovers with G.I. Joe and Knight Rider

    The Hasbro Transformers coverage at SDCC started with a refresh of the recently announced Studio Series Commander Class Optimus Prime from Transformers: The Movie (1986). We then moved on to a number of new Studio Series reveals including Core Class Starscream and Concept Art Frenzy from Transformers: Bumblebee. Sticking with the movies the next reveal was a 15th Anniversary box set of the Revenge of the Fallen Autobots including Voyager Class Optimus Prime, Leader Class Jetifire, and Deluxe figures of Chromia, Elita-1, and Arcee. For Transformers: One the only reveal was a Deluxe Class Megatron. In the Gamer Edition line, we have a Transformers: Reactivate Deluxe Class Bumblebee and a War for Cybertron Voyager Class Ratchet. Outside of the Studio Series reveals we got a look at a new Legacy 2-Pack of Doom N' Destruction. And there were two new collaborative releases with an Agent Knight release paying homage to Knightrider. While the Kup Triple T is a mash-up of Transformers and G.I.   • SDCC 2024: Hasbro Star Wars Panel figure reveals for the Vintage Collection

    The Star Wars Panel at SDCC 2024 includes reveals for the Black Series, Vintage Collection, and Retro Series. In the Vintage collection, the team started with Ahsoka and the reveal of the live-action Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ahsoka Tano (Peridea) in her white outfit. Both are mainline Autumn 2024 releases with pre-orders as of the 27th of July. They then moved to The Mandalorian with Cobb Vanth in his Boba Fett Mandalorian Armour. This new release sees a switch to blister cards for Deluxe figures rather than the boxes. Cobb Vanth is a Mainline Autumn 2024 release. The Mando reveals then went up a size with a Fan Channel Exclusive Blurgg with The Mandalorian as seen in Season 1. This one comes in a Vintage-inspired box with a hanging tab, with Mando also coming on its own Vintage card. The Blurgg will fit into the Vintage Razor Crest. The final Vintage reveal for The Mandalorian is a new playset of the Armorer's forge complete with a new Armorer figure and a Grogu. with his Mandalorian vest The forge includes an opening panel with internal tool storage and a raft of tool accessories including some with alternative hammer heads. This is also boxed with the Armorer on its own card within the box. It's an Autumn release and exclusive to Hasbro Pulse and The Disney Store. The Vintage Collection then wrapped up with a new Jedi; Survivvor Imperial Jetpack Trooper. This is a mainline Autumn 2024 release and features a blaster and jetpack. The panel ended with the usual pipeline for reveals for the Vintage Collection, the pipeline list was Jedi Master Indara and Yord Fandar from The Acolyte, Dedra Meero from Andor, Ovi-Wan from the end of his Disney+ series, Ahsoka flashback Clone Trooper Phase 1 Lieutenant, and a Mauldalorian from the same flashback seen.   • SDCC 2024: Hasbro Star Wars Panel with Star Wars Black Series, Vintage Collection

    The Star Wars Panel at SDCC 2024 includes reveals for the Black Series, Vintage Collection, and Retro Series. For the Black Series, we have Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh from The Acolyte who is 08 in The Acolyte collection. Joining her is Bazil (Jedi Order Tracker) and he comes with Pip, who is 07 in the collection. These new Acolyte Black Series figures are mainline releases and are live for pre-order as of the 27th of July and are Spring 2025 releases. The reveals then moved into Andor and a new figure of Cassian Andor. This is a new figure and head sculpt and features two blasters. Cassian is number 10 in the Andor series.   • SDCC 2024: Hasbro G.I. Joe Classified Series Panel Reveals

    The first of Hasbro's SDCC 2024 panels was for G.I. Joe Classified and included a review of the announced Hasbro PulseCon exclusive Starduster that we had seen earlier that day through the IGN article. And the 2-Pack of Night Force Falcon and Quarrel that is being sold through the Walmart Collector Con event. The team then moved on to the full reveals. These included a two pack of the Steel Commander vs. Twilight Guard (141). We are also getting a Deluxe release of Dreadnok Road-Pig and with Rawkus (number 135), and a standard release Chip 'Raptor' Talon with General Ledger (139). There were also two more 60th Anniversary sets of the Marine Sniper and Halo Pilot. These come in a Deluxe sized box with additional accessories and gear. These are all Autumn 2024 releases and in the US they are all general retailer releases apart from the Steel Commander Vs Twilight Guard which is a Hasbro Pulse Exclusive. In the UK Hasbro holds all G.I. Joe releases as Hasbro Pulse exclusives. We also got the usual set of digital renders for future reveals including new figures of Leatherneck, Zandar, and the Cobra Claw with Pilot.   • SDCC 2024: NECA Booth Reveals Including Horror, TMNT, and Sesame Street!

    As expected, NECA pretty much went all in as SDCC 2024 got underway with a booth full of both previously announced releases, and a selection of new ones. We don't have pictures for everything yet but check out full coverage on The Fwoosh or Toyark. If NECA follows form, there will be subsequent press releases for many of these and we will share these as they come through In their horror series we got a better look at the Krampus figures. There was confirmation that both the previous Hannibal Lecter figures will be re-releases, with Lecter on his trolley on display. The Beetlejuice releases will include a new figure and an Inferno Room playset. There are also new figures from Childs Play, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and a new Cheryl from The Evil Dead. We have more Hammer Horror incoming and alongside the Christopher Lee Dracula was Peter Cushing as Van Helsing. There is also an Ardeth Bay figure from The Mummy. There were a few odd ball reveals too with new Ultimate Sesame Street figures of Count, Bert, and Ernie and a Pee-Wee Herman figure. Iron Maiden's Eddie also featured with new versions of the band's mascot. Alien fans can look forward to the new Xenomorph from Alien Romulas as well as an accessory set. And of course, TMNT featured heavily with the new Shredder Throne on display and a set of movie 'Christmas' Turtles. Tatsu was also added to the display in day 2 confirming his release in the movie series. There were also deep cuts in the Animated Series including Wyrm and Panda Khan among others. The Archie TMNT comics will see figures released including Belly Bomb. And from the Mirage Comics, the new offerings included April O'Neil and Karai as Shredder.   • SDCC 2024: Hiya Toys announcements & reveals

    Hiya Toys were off the mark early with the SDCC 2024 previews and reveals with a sneak peek of their new 1/12 Exquisite Basic scale Contra: Operation Galuga figures of Bill Rizer and Lance Bean. We initially saw these as unpainted teasers back in May 2024, but these new SDCC preview images show the fully painted figures. From the Hiya Booth itself we get a look at a lot of the new Godzilla and Kong figures including a new prototype Godzilla 2000. In the Exquisite Super 6-inch scale line we get a look at the previously announced Sulu from Star Trek, and Andrew Scott from Universal Soldiers. There are also new Walking Dead 6-inch figures of Negan and Daryl. Also on display was a new Star Trek Enterprise ship, there are limited details as to what this is and how it will be released.   • McFarlane Movie Maniacs Rocky III figures of Rocky Balboa and Clubber Lang

    The next pair of McFarlane Movie Maniacs posed figures from the Rocky franchise are now live for pre-order on Walmart in the US. These Rocky III figures feature Rocky vs Clubber Lang with each boxer coming with an alternative 'bloodied' head, a 'Vs' accessory, art card and mystery accessory. Each set is limited to 5700 units. These are available later this Summer at Walmart in the US. Elsewhere, including here in the UK, they will be dependent on the international distributor.
