- Doctor Who Resurrection of the Daleks Set and Remembrance of the Daleks Emperor Davros head to B&M as Autumn Exclusives
Character Toys and B&M have revealed two new Doctor Who sets heading into B&M stores in the UK this September. When the History of the Daleks sets reached the 5th Doctor era they skipped past Resurrection of the Daleks having just released a number of Grey & Black Dalek Drones. In 2024 they are returning to fill in this gap, although the 2024 set will be number 18 and therefore puts the collection numbering out of line for the first time since its inception. Tjhe Resurrection of the Dalek set will include the Black & White Dalek Supreme, and a standard Grey & Black Drone. Rumours of a variant set are not yet confirmed. The second release for September 2024 is the long-awaited re-release of Emperor Davros from Remembrance of the Daleks. The mold for this figure was presumed lost by Character Toys but was recently rediscovered allowing this highly sought-after figure to be recreated now as a B&M boxed exclusive. This latest installment for the History of the Daleks series features the black, white and silver liveried Supreme Dalek and a more customary Grey Drone Dalek, from the episode Resurrection of the Daleks’ that first aired in 1984. In the episode, the Daleks return to rescue their leader Davros from his cryogenic sleep, to save them from a deadly virus created by their enemies, the Movellians. The tale unfolds into an epic battle that may see the entire Dalek race, including Davros, succumb to the virus, and culminates the Dalek Command ship and station being blown to atoms. As all fans know, Davros is the creator of the Doctor’s deadliest enemies, the Daleks. In this special set, the evil genius is depicted as in the 1982 episode “Remembrance of the Daleks” partially mutated with one functioning hand, a cybernetic eye mounted on his forehead he is encased in his self-designed cream and gold support chair in place of his lower body – this mobile chair inspired his design of the Daleks. The box comes complete with a gold limited edition seal and an inner back drop that sets the scene for the Emperor Davros’s evil doings to come. Gotham City’s Guardian. The hero known as Batman goes by many titles as the result of a life in the shadows building an urban legend that is revered by the innocent as much as it is feared by Gotham City’s cowardly and superstitious criminal lot. In a world full of Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Batman fights crime using his intellect, physical and mental training, and an arsenal developed with his family’s fortune. Moreover, Bruce Wayne has an unrelenting need to prevent the kind of tragedy that he suffered from happening to any of Gotham City’s innocents. A presence in Batman’s world ever since she forcibly inserted herself into it, the tenacious Barbara Gordon has spent her life following in the footsteps of her hero father, Commissioner James “Jim” Gordon. While James Gordon has done much to help Gotham City as one of the few honorable cops on the Gotham City Police force, Barbara has done even more as Batgirl. Originally starting her career by imitating Gotham City’s legendary Dark Knight, Batgirl has since become her own woman, fighting crime in an original style, and putting her years of training and brilliant mind to work protecting Gotham City’s under-served neighborhoods The Joker possesses what must arguably be the most dangerous criminal mind on the planet. With no moral compass to speak of and a sick sense of humor that derives joy from witnessing the pain of others, the notorious Clown Prince of Crime is the smiling foil to the Batman’s grim and serious demeanor. With a reputation as infamous as that of the Dark Knight, The Joker has become a one-man movement in the city of Gotham City, attracting a sea of followers as he proceeds to indulge in unthinkable crimes that would give even the cruelest career criminal pause.. "Harvey Dent has led a deeply conflicted life. Possessing a split personality that veers between two extremes—good and evil— Dent goes by the name of Two-Face. It is an apt description of his physical appearance. Scarred by acid into outwardly becoming the monster he once hid away from the world, Two-Face has become a tragic figure and one of Batman’s most unpredictable and dangerous opponents." Complement your Batman: The Animated Series Batmobile with this jaw-dropping 37" long Batwing replica. Featuring retractable landing gear, battery-powered interior lights and exhaust, and a slide-open cockpit canopy that fits two 6" action figures, this sleek replica will enhance your Batman collection. Check out our direct news feed for more action figure news, reviews, and store reports About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
