Super7 has marked the Gozilla 70th anniversary with the reveal of a new Toho Ultimates release of Space Godzilla, in a 'kaleidoscope of colour' seen in the original movie poster for Godzilla vs Space Godzilla (1994). Space Godzilla measures nearly 15 inches long from snout to tail and stands 8.5 inches tall. The boxed release comes with two head options and alternative hands. "This is Enoch, captain of my guard." Since the reveal of Grand Admiral Thrawn’s Imperial army on Peridea, there have been a clamouring for the release of both Captain Enoch and the Night Troopers into the Star Wars Black Series. This was finally confirmed on May the 4th 2024 with a 2-pack featuring both Enoch and a Night Trooper scheduled as an Autumn release and exclusive to Walmart in the US and sold via Fan Channel retailers in the UK and other territories. This decision of a two-pack and an exclusive was perhaps disappointing, particularly for those wishing to army-build. However, the set - which was released at the very end of October 2024 - was reasonably priced at sub £45 and with relatively strong availability here in the UK at least.  Like all new Galaxy Collection releases, the Enoch & Night Trooper set has moved to the new squared box format while retaining the black base colouring, light blue accent colour and side artwork. Like most 2-packs the set is not part of the numbered collection and the artwork - which is split between Enoch and the Trooper - does not directly connect to any of the other releases.  The back of the box focuses on Enoch and his role within Thrawn's forces, with a final sentence focusing on the Night Troopers. The new packaging features a coloured backdrop to the figures in the box and once you've taken out your Troopers the design is revealed in full as a very clear backdrop of the Eye of Scion controls Starting with Enoch and the Captain uses the newest Imperial Stormtrooper  figure as a base - as would have been the case in the backstory of Thrawn’s exile to Peridea - but with a considerable amount of updated parts and paintwork. The upper armour remains predominantly the same as a standard Trooper but with gold painted left Pauldron and panels and the Kintsugi gold invalid repairs all added as painted detail rather than sculpted ‘cracks’. Enoch’s midsection is new and is fully gold featuring variant greebles and panels to a standard Trooper. And round the back of Enoch the rear part of the chest armour forgoes the usual back section with a circular panel and two banks of components and features a flatted squared piece with four quadrants of components including elements also painted in gold.  The lower legs are all direct Stormtrooper parts but with the same paint application as the torso with gold panels and gold repaired cracks painted over the white cast armour. There are also some darker black panels also on the right thigh and left ankle. Over this sits a brand new burgundy knee-length skirt section with a painted black belt and holster on Enoch’s right hip. The helmet is new and uses the top, back and sides of an Imperial Trooper helmet but with a new human shaped faceplate in gold with black eyes. The intricate helmnet also featured painted repaired lines, black panels and a pair of bright red Imperial insignia either side of the forehead. While the recent Stormtrooper helmets are a helmet glued over a sculpted head - the Enoch helmet features no such interior detail.  Enoch features a single blaster, a new piece in black with gold trim. It can be holstered in the working holster, or held in either the left or right hands with both featuring a trigger finger.  Enoch’s accompanying Night Trooper is also built on the main Stormtrooper body for the Black Series but also features new parts. The armour is all cast in a flatter white than the usual high gloss with the red dressings all sculpted detail across brand new armoured parts - these include both Pauldrons, upper right arm, lower right arm, and right hand. There is also wrappings sculpted onto the chest piece, around the waist section and on the lower left shin. These are all painted neatly in deep red contrasting with the white of the armour. You can also see the Kintsugi repairs in gold, painted into place as with Enoch - they are less prominent than the captain, but visible on the chest and left knee guard and lower leg in particular. The Night Trooper helmet is a re-use of the Imperial helmet but with the faceplate and dome in deep grey with gold repair detail. This replicates the specific Night Trooper who parades behind Enoch as they escort Thrawn when he makes his first appearance in Ahsoka. This perhaps goes some way to offset the army-building argument with this figure based on a specific trooper while also developing parts and paint techniques for more army builders to join the line in the future. The Night Trooper is armed with the usual E-11 blaster, the newer cast accessory from the latest Stormtrooper releases. It is cast in a similar grey to his helmet without any further details. It can also fit in right or left hand but has no holstering option. Both Enoch and the Night Trooper include the same pinless articulation with 19 points in total across the Trooper's body. The articulation on the Trooper allows for a wide range of positions including the ability to kneel - Enoch’s skirt piece does partly hinder his lower leg options. Both Troopers have un restricted upper body articulation supported in particular with butterfly shoulders that allow for plenty of weapon poses. Coming from a period where exclusive two packs were pushing £50 and £60, it is refreshing that Hasbro has kept the RRP on this set down to £45 with some Fan Channel retailers pushing it as low as £42 - which works out to just £21 per figure. Both figures are really well executed and with more new parts and decor applications than I had perhaps expected - particularly with the Night Trooper who’s red-wrapped armoured panels will almost certainly feed into future Night Trooper army builders. While it is probably true that these figures should have been single releases, what you get for your money is certainly well worth it for a two-pack and for those just wanting Enoch as a figure, there will be plenty of re-sale options on the secondary market for your spare Night Trooper. "Faith? I lost that a long time ago." Baylan Skoll, played brilliantly by the late Ray Stevenson in Season 1 of Ahsoka, received his first Star Wars Black Series release in late 2023. This Galaxy Collection Wave 15 release  came in for a considerable amount of criticism due to the proportions of Skoll with Hasbro not replicating Stevenson’s 6ft 3 frame and instead giving us a Baylan Skoll who was the same height as his apprentice Shin Hati and Ahsoka Tano herself.  It was announced that there would be an Autumn 2024 release of a second Baylan Skoll figure. This ‘Mercenary’ version would come with Baylan’s cloak but there was no reference to the height issue being resolved. The figure, a Walmart exclusive in the US and sold via the Fan Channel retailers here in the UK, was number 13 in the Ahsoka Galaxy Collection and the first single figure from that particular series to switch to the new squared-off Galaxy Collection boxes. The same colour scheme was carried forward with the light blue position on the key text of Baylan’s Skoll’s packaging and on the side artwork that connects between the Admiral Thrawn release and the Shin Hati companion exclusive to this Baylan Skoll update. The back of the box provides a short piece of background setting for Baylan Skoll alongside a repeat of the side artwork. The new boxes feature a colour-coded backdrop now to each figure, and within this, there is some imagery rather than a flat colour and within the blue for Baylan Skoll is the angled doorway of the New Republic ship where we first meet the Dark Jedi. The figure in hand is sadly identical to the first release in 2023 with no adjustments made to the height or the supporting proportions with Skoll still featuring a pair of extremely tiny feet considering his muscular frame. The body is predominately cast in black with very well detailed armoured panels in a grey, almost corroded copper patina with overlaid wash to bring out the detail and add weathering. The sole element of colour is a green metallic and silver belt buckle.  vs original release (right) which has had height adjusted The headsculpt, also the same as the prior release, features a reasonable likeness to Stevenson with facial printing adding a deep set pair of eyes, ringed in red, and shading around the nose. The beard is perhaps the wrong shape and rounds off the mouth too much and should be shorter cropped at the side.  While the height issues have not been fixed, the cloak that differentiates this release with the first version makes quite a bit of difference to the look for Baylan. He wore the cloak during many of his Ahsoka scenes and adding it to the base figure makes him look more complete as a Dark Jedi. The soft goods cloak is not black, but rather a very deep green with a grey trim around the hood. It is tailored so that the hood is stitched into the hooded shape with further stitching sitting around and down from the clasp to shape the cape over Baylan’s shoulders. The hood can be worn up - a reasonably natural-looking position considering the scale, or folded back to show it down. The entirety of the cape can also be removed if you wish. Baylan’s lightsaber was also a point of contention in the first release, with a red coloured blade that was not reflective of the orange tone we saw him and Shin Hati use in the show. The revised Mercenary release doesn’t dramatically alter this, but there is a slight lightening of the blade - but it still presents as red rather than orange. The saber hilt is black and silver and can be slung onto a hook on Skoll’s belt or held in either hand. The elongated blade - almost as big as the figure itself - slots in using the standard clip-in peg with socket. Articulation is entirely pinless and we have 17 points of articulation with the thigh swivels removed and a swivel added into the knee joint to compensate. The lower skirt is a flexible plastic and is split, but extends so far down past the knee that while Skoll can widen his stance, he won’t be kneeling or crouching on display. The upper body is more maneuverable with more flexible plastic used on the shoulder armour which is then hinged so it can be moved up and with the arms when posing.  The cloak does provide the Mercenary version of Baylan Skoll an improved complete look from the first release and displaying him with his cloak is my current choice within the Ahsoka segment of my collection. Sadly, the opportunity to resolve the well-documented height issue and the light saber has not been taken and therefore the £24.99 Fan Channel price tag is pretty much for a repacked figure and the new cloak - fine for those who skipped the first release of Baylan Skoll, but a bit rich for those that already paid out for this general release.  After two inaccurate releases for Skoll we are unlikely to see a fix from Hasbro any time soon - so aftermarket mods  to the legs are the only option to extend Baylan’s height, and we will have to see if there are any third party light saber blades created to give him (and Shin Hati) the orange blades that are key component on the show. Super7 has revealed a new Toho Ultimates Godzilla Minus One release due to ship in December 2024. Announced as a Halloween 'Treat' was the news that the Hasbro Ghostbusters HasLab project would now include Louis Tulley as a Ghostbuster figure providing the Ectomobile project backed by the close date on the 1st of December - the figure had previously only been promised if the project was backed in full within the first 14-days (1st of November) At the time of posting the project has reached 8400 backers in the first 13-days (646 backers per day) and while the daily backers have slowed the project has a reasonably good chance of backing with 30-days remaining and therefore only 120 backers are needed daily to get us over the line,. Revealed by Hasbro are two new releases in their Marvel Legends Marvel Studios line of re-releases. The new pair include Captain America, and Spider-Man as seen in Spider-Man: Far from Home. Like the Iron Man and Iron Spider figures already released, these are the same as their original releases but with updated packaging. They are aimed at new collectors, allowing them direct access to key MCU characters for their collection. Cap looks to be the Avengers: Endgame version as packed in the Captain America 2-Pack from 2022 but with a couple of hand options not included in that set. Spider-Man is a repack of the Far From Home suit release from 2019 Dan Yun has taken to Twitter to confirm we are likely to see more of these in 2025 at both Walmart and Target stores in the US. Revealed during the Marvel segment of Hasbro's panel at Lucca Comics & Games 2024 in Italy are these new Marvel Legends releases of Fabian Cortez, and the alternative look for The Spot as seen in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Pre-order dates are not fully confirmed but were listed as November 2024. They are likely to be Spring or Summer 2025 releases. Hasbro's Star Wars segment during their panel at Lucca Comic & Games in Italy had a single reveal in the Vintage Collection with the Imperial Disguise version of Chopper from Rebels. He is part of the same Fan Channel wave as recently announced figures such as the Snowtrooper, Doctor Evazan, Aurra Sing and Lt. Callahan.
