  • McFarlane DC Direct: The New Batman Adventures Batman (Blue/Grey), Scarecrow and Riddle

Arriving in late December 2024 / January 2025 are these three new figures from The New Batman Adventures including a new Batman in blue/grey suit, The Riddler, and The Scarecrow. We've added these to our extensive McFarlane Collector Checklist As a child, BRUCE WAYNE™ watched as his parents were brutally killed in GOTHAM CITY’S CRIME ALLEY. Traumatized by their deaths, he devoted his life to becoming the world’s greatest weapon against crime – BATMAN™! To become the ultimate vigilante, the DARK KNIGHT™ disciplined his mind and body to reach the pinnacle of mental and physical superiority in his relentless pursuit of justice! DR. JONATHAN CRANE™ has spent as much time lurking in the dark corners of the human psyche as he has hiding in the shadowy parts of GOTHAM CITY™. Obsessed with the idea of fear in its many forms, CRANE has adopted the role of the SCARECROW™, a living embodiment of things that go bump in the night. A career Super-Villain, SCARECROW lives to clash with the BATMAN™, intent on making the DARK KNIGHT™ cower in fear. One of the Dark Knight’s most infamous villains, Edward Nygma enjoys flaunting his intellectual superiority by conducting crimes and leaving clues for Batman to piece together. While this habit constantly leads to the aptly named Riddler failing in his criminal endeavors, his puzzle-problem actually stems not only from his own narcissism and ego, but also from a deep-seeded psychological compulsion. Because of this, the Riddler often finds himself a resident of Arkham Asylum following his inevitable capture. To manage our storage costs, news article images are archived after 12-months. • Doctor Who December 2024 B&M Exclusive Sets with Friends & Foes of the Doctor 3-Pack, and Parting of the Ways History of the Dalek 2-Pack

The next set of Exclusive Doctor Who sets for B&M are finally unveiled in full by Character. There are two sets incoming in December, starting with a Friends & Foes of the Doctor 3-pack that comes with a new version of Professor River Song from 'The Pandorica Opens' as seen in her stealth outfit seen when she breaks into Liz 10's vault. River is joined by a variant Clockwork Droid in Gold from 'The Girl in the Fireplace' and a Cyberman with heavy weaponry. This is the Cyberman as we see them in 'A Good Man Goes to War' with the circular central chest panel rather than the Cybus logo. The Friends & Foe set will be split into two variations with two variants of the Cyberman split evenly across the sets. One, will be a a Cyber Leader with black handle bars and another as a standard Cyberman. The second set is the next 2-pack in the History of the Daleks. This number 19 set is taken from 'The Parting of the Ways' and includes a standard Gold Drone and a Black & Gold Imperial Guard Dalek. Again, there is a 50:50 split variant with this set with the Drone coming in two variants one with Assault Arm and the other with a standard sucker. Both sets will be in B&M stores at some point in early December. The pricing is not yet confirmed but expects to follow the usual £22.99 price point. We've added both sets to our extensive Doctor Who Collector Database This set comprises Professor River Song as seen in the 2010 episode The Pandorica Opens, the Cyberman with Heavy Weapons as seen in the 2011 episode A Good Man Goes to War, and the Gold Clockwork Droid from the 2006 episode The Girl in the Fireplace. The River Song figure comes decorated in her black ‘stealth’ outfit briefly seen in the part where she is breaking into Liz 10’s secret archive to locate a Vincent Van Gogh painting. She sports a revised head sculpt with ponytail which appeared in that scene, and completing the outfit is her utility belt and holster with detachable blaster accessory. The Cyberman is presented in the standard livery of a silvered armour over darker silver joints and come with the somewhat incongruous 'Reaper' heavy blaster weapon seen in this episode while the ‘Gold’ Clockwork Droid is a variant never released before but has as usual the removable mask with hair, arm mounted utility weapon, and the internal clockwork parts as seen inside the transparent clear head. The next new set is the 19th in the history of the eminently popular History of the Daleks series. This new chapter for the series is a celebration of black and bronze and features Daleks from the 2005 episode featuring the Ninth Doctor called Parting of the Ways. In the episode, Rose Tyler has been captured by the Daleks and the Doctor must do some fancy flying to find her. Emerging from the TARDIS, he taunts the Daleks to find out information and is staggered to find them worshipful of something or someone. The source of this enthral is revealed to be the self-proclaimed ‘Emperor of the Daleks’, a survivor of the Time War. This set includes a black and bronze Imperial Guard Dalek and a fully bronze Dalek - all part of the massive Dalek army that has been created by the Emperor over the centuries. Check out our direct news feed for more action figure news, reviews, and store reports About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
