"My people call me K'uk'ulkan, but my enemies call me Namor" Ahead of the cinematic release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Hasbro released a mixed wave of Marvel Legends figures including those from the movie alongside comic book adjacent characters. From Wakanda Forever we got new figures of Nakia, Namor, and Okoye along with an updated Everett Ross who was badged as from the original Black Panther movie. The wave was rounded out by comic book releases of Black Panther, and Hatut Zeraze and the build-a-figure returned to the Wakanda Forever theme with Attuma, as seen in the movie. The wave was part of the short-lived plastic free packaging series, coming without any window and using artwork and photography to depict the contents. Namor is a full new sculpt and based on his general look in the film while battling Black Panther without any of the more formal clothing and head-dress we see him wearing in Talokan. The figure is essentially a sculpted and cast in skin tones with the shorts cast in deep green and plugged into the upper torso and the upper legs with no need for painted segments. The belt, ringlets on the arms, and bracers are each cast in a gold plastic finish and are individual pieces with the arm ringlets able to move up and down the upper bicep. The footwear includes similar golden panels as the hands, covering leather painted sandals with a central pearl - and at each side of these the wings which include sculpted feather detail in a plain white plastic. The neck piece is the most ornate part of Namor’s costume and again starts off as an individual shaped gold section with the design sculpted into the plastic then overpainted with metallic blues and more pearls in a soft pearlescent finish. The head sculpt is a strong likeness to actor Tenoch Huerta as seen in the film, complete with sculpted nose and ear piercings in a matching green tone to his costume. Face print tech adds to the realism across the eyes in particular, and creates a more subtle and blended look to Namor’s facial hair. This short cropped beard blends into the hair piece which is fixed in place onto the head, removing any risk of paint bleed at the hairline. The hair is textured with a peaked front piece - again matching what we see on screen. Namor is packed with four hands in total, with a left clenched fist, a right gripping hand, and a pair of flat hands which are intended to show him as if swimming. These all swap in and out easily enough and the skin tone plastic matches the rest of the figure. Namor’s final accessory is his spear - another gold plastic cast piece that sits taller than the figure, measuring close to 7.5 inches (19cm) in height. There are Mayan inspired markings down the length of the piece, with the upper blade a deep metallic aqua blue colour and beneath this, three metallic green ringlets. With only one gripping hand, Namor can only hold the spear in his right hand,d and there are no options of a two-handed grip.  Namor features 18 points of articulation, using the standard pinless setup without any butterfly shoulders, which is notable if you try and pose Namor in a diving or swimming position. This aside, the joints all work as intended with little resistance from what limited costume and armour he wears.  Namor is a very striking figure, and offers a strong likeness to the onscreen character supported by a relatively wide-ranging set of articulated joints, albeit certainly missing a butterfly shoulder. The choice of accessories is fine in terms of his spear - but the combination of hands is then odd and we needed a further gripping left hand to be included or for the clenched fist to be changed to a grip version. Like much of the Wakanda Forever figures, Namor suffered from the use of plastic-free packaging and has been seen on clearance well under his RRP. The latest edition of The McFarlane Show, an online fan stream event, showcased a number of new McFarlane DC figures. They included DC comic book releases of a new Cowboy Batman, a two-pack of Grim Knight Batman vs Killer Croc, and Hawkgirl. The DC movie line will see a new figure of The Riddler from Batman Forever in his final suit, and a new Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice Alfred. It was implied Alfred may be a pack in with a BvS Batmobile. There was also come commentary around the DC licence and the recent news of Mattel's new agreement. McFarlane are producing figures into 2026 including new Supergirl movie figures. Discussions with Warner Bros. are ongoing. "Queen Mother, I've found her signal. It's coming from an underwater cave. If she’s down there, I'm sure I'll encounter resistance. How would you like me to proceed?" Ahead of the cinematic release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Hasbro released a mixed wave of Marvel Legends figures including those from the movie alongside comic book adjacent characters. This is Nakia’s second figure in the Cinematic Universe line of figures, with this Wakanda Forever release being completely new and based on her Subermisible gear she dons to search for Shuri in Talokan. This is cast in green with sculpted patterning which is then infilled with metallic green paint and further blue panels, particularly on the upper body and arms. The costume also features an individual belt piece in bright blue with copper repeating patterning, and Nakia’s Kimoyo bead bracelet - another individual piece, now in black plastic and enclosed around her wrist.  The figure comes with two head sculpts, the first and unmasked head with a much improved likeness to actor Lupita Nyong'o compared to her original Black Panther figure. The photo realism printing is applied to enhance the sculpted eyes, mouth, and nose in particular, while the skin tone is more natural in its finish and not overly glossy. The hair piece is an individual fixed piece with red highlights and plaited sections. It is sculpted to hang over the shoulders, but sits a bit high to look completely natural in how it flows, particularly viewing it from the sides or when the head is set to look forward at which point the rear hair segment floats above the shoulders of the figure.  The second head is when Nakia wears her submersible suit helmet. This head mirrors the colour scheme of the suit with a green base and blue highlighted panels. The helmet features a clear visor behind which sits the same core head as the unmasked version - but without the hair piece - this still features facial printing applications.  Nakia features two pairs of hands which are odd in their selection. While you get a right clenched fist, you do not get a corresponding one for the left arm. In stead the left options are two slightly different gripping options, with only one gripping option for the right.. The gripping hands are designed to hold her Ring Blades, of which we get a pair, but I cannot put my finger on why two variant left hand grips were warranted. The blades are new and not a re-use of the original figure’s weapons. They are cast in green with sculpted lines down each of the blade sections. There is no further paint or decor applied  Nakia has 18 points of articulation, all pinless, and with an extensive range of motion with no particular obstructions caused by her costume. The lack of a wider range of torso movement -  she only gets a ball joint chest - does hamper some posing options. But the legs and arms are fully mobile to allow a number of display options from neutral stance to in fight mode, with or without the Ring Blades. Nakia in her Wakanda Subermisible suit was obviously selected as a figure ahead of the movie release and while it did play a relatively substantial part in the movie there were in hindsight other figures that might have been more desirable. What we get is a faithful recreation of Nakia and her suit with a relatively decent set of accessories - although the Ring Blades needed more colour on them. She is well articulated and displays well enough - but like much of the complementary releases from the same movie, she didn’t do particularly well at retail and spent a lot of time at discounted pricing, not helped by the windowless packaging. McFarlane's new BRZRKR action figure, based on the comic book series by Keanu Reeves and published by Boom! Studios, is revealed in full ahead of the Walmart Collector Con in the US. Nacelle Toys first wave of Star Trek figures has opened up for pre-order. But it is bad news for UK collectors, and indeed anyone outside the US as Nacelle have now disclosed that they only have the licence to distribute in the United States. Series 1 of the line will launch in October 2025. Each figure comes with alternative hands and appropriate accessories such as phasers and datapads. Captain Jellico and Valkris also feature larger diorama pieces - Jellico comes with the fish tank from Picard's ready room, and Valkris with the Genesis Device Torpedo. Update: Packaging images (mockup) have also been released and fill use a red and black starscape window box theme complete with numbering and the logo of the particular Star Trek franchise from which they are taken. The next in the S.H. Figuarts series of Spider-Man figures from the Spider-Verse movies is Miles G. Morales as seen in Across the Spider-Verse. The 6-inch scale release comes with two unmasked heads, and a third masked head with alternative eye sections. You also get a selection of alternative hands, and two different lower arm sections allowing you to use Miles' normal arms, or his armoured gauntlets from the Prowler suit. As the count down to Walmart's Collector Con on the 13th of March 2025 continues, two new NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle figures have now been listed - both based on the TMNT Comic book series. This beefed up version of Ace comes with three head options, a selection of hands, and the wrestling staple - the steel chair. Both figures go up for pre-order as of the 13th of March 2025. There are two Marvel Legends offerings included in the March 2025 Walmart Collector Con event. Both are figures previously revealed, the 1977 Spider-Man from the TV series and the recently revealed Spirit Spider from the Gamerverse line. The 1977 Spider-Man was revealed way back in a December 2024 Hasbro Fan Stream. The figure is based on the CBS Spider-Man show from the 70s and comes with extra hands and a pair of web effects. Spirit Spider is packaged in the same Gamerverse window box packaging as the other Spider-Man videogame figures due later this year. He features two extra pairs of hands. Both figures will be listed for pre-order on the 13th of March 2025 when the Walmart event gets fully underway - we'd expect the UK Fan Channel pre-orders to start at the same time. We expect both to be Summer 2025 releases.
