Ahead of the cinematic release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Hasbro released a selection of Marvel Legends figures from the movie including a wave of single figures featuring Nakia, Namor, Okoye, Agent Ross and Attuma - and a deluxe release of Riri Williams’ Ironheart. The new Ironheart figure was packed into the wider deluxe packaging but was released during the short-lived plastic free packaging series, coming without any window and using artwork and photography to depict the contents. Ironheart is a deluxe release, newly tooled and based on the suit Riri Williams is wearing at the very end of Wakanda Forever. This is cast predominately in red gloss plastic with black panels and gold trims painted on top. The chest reactor line is picked out in light blue while additional components like the gear around the thighs, and vents on the legs, are finished in silver. There are two large plug in boosters that connect to sockets on the figure's back to complete the Ironheart armoured look - these are not overly secure and can frustratingly fall off with any minor handling or a knock. Again, these boosters are red gloss cast with black trim and silver booster segments. The figure stands at 6.5 inches tall but looks proportionally taller thanks to the lengthened legs and their incorporated boosters - pretty much in keeping with the suit we see on screen.  You can choose from two head options for Ironheart, the first an unmasked Riri Williams head that is sculpted with as slight smirk on her face rather than a neutral look. It's an OK likeness to actor Dominique Thorne with the 3d facial printing adding further realism to the eyes. The hair piece is part of the overall sculp tbut still features quite a crisp hairline. The colouring is black with brown inlays around the plaited sections. Two ‘buns’ are included at the back where Riri has tied up her long hair for use in the suit. The unmasked head does look marginally too high on the neck peg. The masked head is the final element of the Ironheart helmet and this is again red gloss plastic with a black central section, gold trim and light blue visor. The heads can be swapped simply enough, and by including both masked and unmasked versions you can pose Riri holding the helmet - if indeed the suit works that way and is not nanotechnology. Accessories are plentiful and are likely the key driver behind the Deluxe status. We have two pairs of hands to choose from with a pair of clenched fists, and a second pair with the hand extended to fire the central repulsors. These also include a central socket on the palm that can incorporate one of the included effect pieces. The hands can be displayed as they come on the figure, or by adding the extended wrist weapons, which are black gloss parts with gold trim. These are fitted by taking off the hand, fitting the extension and then resetting the hand. There is also a larger fully extended weapon version for the left hand only which starts with the black casing and then extends out to two silver prongues with inlaid blue repulsor panels. This weapon also features a softer plastic pipe that connects to the weapon and backward to a matching socket on the jet packs. This one fits in the same way, although you can’t put the hand back on when this, the largest of Ironheart’s weapons, is deployed. To go with the weaponry are a selection of effect pieces. We start with the usual Iron-Man blasts in a very translucent blue. These slot into the sockets on the hands for firing effects, or onto the feet for a flight position. You can also use these with a pair of smoke swirls that sit around the repulsor blasts to create a smoking effect, having been cast in a translucent grey/black plastic. The final effect pairing is a set of slimline blast effects that slot into the jet pack to the rear - again helping with a flight position if you want to go down that route using an aftermarket stand. Ironheart has just 16 points of articulation, all pinless. These start at her feet, which are the least articulated as rather than a standard rocker, the entire foot is on a single pin hinge that rocks it back and forward in one direction but has no lateral movement. Above this there are a pair of single knee joints, some thigh swivels slotted behind the thigh armour and ball jointed hips. The leg joints are all tight and secure, and Ironheart is simple enough to stand and to support her own weight, and expanded weaponry and thrusters.  The torso features a ball joint with a relatively good range, and a neck joint that permits both heads to fully rotate as well as some degree of tilt forward, backwards, and sideways. This does come with a partly visible neck peg when using the unmasked Riri Williams head. Arms include a standard wrist joint with pivot, double jointed elbows and a set of ball joint shoulders that also incorporate the upper shoulder armour. While the shoulder armour moves with the joint, it does prevent the arms from being raised up at the sides, even when rotated. This all allows the arms some level of posing, but not to the extent you would perhaps want from an armoured suit with blasters on either arm - with the blasters themselves also restricting further movement when engaged as they overlap the elbows.  The Ironheart design, seen at the end of Wakanda Forever, has been translated reasonably well into this figure with its stark red colour scheme trimmed in black and gold. Proportionally it does look lengthened at the legs, and with some limitations on articulation its not overly easy to pose in some of the ways we see it fight on screen. The unmasked head is a good likeness without being spectacular, and the additional weapon options are a good way of allowing variation to the suit, much in the way the Infinity War Iron-Man was given his nano-weaponry. The effects are not everyone’s cup of tea, but add some character to the suit, which can be posed in flight pose but needs an aftermarket stand to take its weight.  Ironheart, like much of the Wakanda Forever figure line, did seem to struggle at retail, driven in part with plastic-free packaging. "Chi'kunalook estali'niti ta'witi [you’re not worth my blade]” Ahead of the cinematic release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Hasbro released a mixed wave of Marvel Legends figures including those from the movie alongside comic book adjacent characters. From Wakanda Forever we got new figures of Nakia, Namor, and Okoye along with an updated Everett Ross who was badged as from the original Black Panther movie. The wave was rounded out by comic book releases of Black Panther, and Hatut Zeraze and the build-a-figure returned to the Wakanda Forever theme with Attuma, as seen in the movie. The wave was part of the short-lived plastic free packaging series, coming without any window and using artwork and photography to depict the content.  The BAF content checklist moving to the side panel, confirming the need to buy all six of the wave to complete your Attuma figure - including the two comic book figures of Black Panther and Hatut Zeraze. With all the pieces collected, assembly is done through the usual connections with arms, legs and head all connecting into the central torso. As is standard, the thigh connections are the hardest to engage and may need some gentle heat to make the plastic more accepting of the connecting piece.  Attuma is in essence a standard height Marvel Legends figure and is comparable to Namor from the same wave. His height is however exaggerated by his ornate bone headdress which puts the overall figure another inch or so taller than characters of a similar build. Attuma is built on a blue-skinned cast body, and despite similarities in physique, there is no obvious borrowing of parts from Namor. The tone of the blue is questionable to what we see on screen, which has more green and is more intensive - although that is more from the lighting and post production with the figure most likely based on behind-the-scenes costumes.  Attuma features additional body detailing vs what we saw on Namor, notably battle scarring on the torso. Over the base body is Attuma’s Talokan warrior armour which includes bone plated shoulder guards and further spinal bone segments that run down the arms to a bracer which has a bone outer panel and brown inner leather wrap. The boots are dealt with in a similar fashion with a brown ‘wrapped’ effect around shins and feet and bone trim added to the top, down the front and on the top of the foot. Attuma is wearing an added skirt piece in softer plastic that features a brown cast belt with more bone detailing around the clasp. From this runs some fin like panels in very light beige, a front tabard in two shades of brown and with a blue striped section at the top, and an inner skirt piece in a soft purple colour. A similar softer plastic section is included around the neck, again in brown but embedded with teeth in a bone white and with more of the bright aqua blue around the lower section. Round the very back of the skirt is a knife in a holster, but this is sculpted and not a useable accessory, which would have been a neat addition. The head is cast in the same blue as the body and features a transparent breathing mask over Attuma’s nose and mouth. The eyes sit underneath the brow of his large bone coloured head piece with its wide marine creature bone crest. Around the back of the headdress are some softer plastic spines in purple/brown and Attuma’s own black flowing hair. While difficult to see, the face does appear to use facial printing and Attuma wears similar green earrings to those we see on Namor. Attuma is provided with two weapons, both included in the Agent Ross set alongside one of his arms. We start with a club/blade cast in brown with sculpted detailing, picking out the wrapped grip and the texture of the upper club/blade. The only painted detail are the inset teeth along one ridge, painted in bone white. The weapon also features a softer plastic loop at the handle end, butt his has no functionality with the figure and nor do I recal it being seen in the film (I may be wrong). The weapon wielded during nearly all of Attuma’s scenes is the second longer axe weapon that comes with a grey cast shaft and a purple flint textured blade with a metallic sheen. Both weapons fit into either of Attuma’s gripping hands, with sufficient articulation for the longer of the two to be wielded across both hands.  Attuma has 18 points of articulation, all pinless, but with much of the articulation facing some level of restriction due to the design of his armour. The legs are held in check by the skirt piece, but support the figure adequately with a range of neutral and action ready stances available. The arms have a bit of resistance thanks to the shoulder armour which is fixed to the arm and provides a blockage to raising the arm directly. It does however rotate and allows the arm to raise up, but this then throws the aesthetics with the shoulder pauldron sitting down the back of the arm and not where it should be. The torso joint, while not restricted, is limited in its movement. And the neck joint - and it is a very visible central neck peg - has restricted movement due to Attuma’s lengthy hair.  While there are issues with Attuma, he is a visually impressive figure with plenty of sculpted detail although perhaps a lack of overall vibrancy to the skin tone and the costume. Articulation is good, without being spectacular and certainly a different approach tot he shoulder armour may have helped in the overall posing options for the arms. The split of the wave felt frustrating - as was the case for any wave that had either an MCU or Comic Book BAF that required buying figures from the other side of the Marvel Universe. Since the Attuma wave, we’ve seen some level of shift in this principle, and going into 2025 more of a split between Cinematic and Comic releases. Mezco Toys has shared a preview of their new One:12 Collective Conan the Barbarian figure. The new 6-inch release features Conan in his War Paint and comes with three head options which interchange with two different hair pieces. The set also includes a selection of alternative hands, severed head, amulet and a pair of snakes. Conan is armed with a dagger, his sword and its sheath. The set will come with the usual display base and stand as included on all One:12 Collective releases. Conan is live for pre-orders as of the 13th of March 2025 and is expected to ship between October and December 2025. Conan and his companions emancipate King Osric’s wayward daughter from Thulsa Doom’s stronghold in a savagely covert rescue mission, but at what cost...? Straight from the 1982 cult classic, Conan the Barbarian, Conan dons his camouflage war paint in order to save a king’s daughter for a hefty ransom. This iconic look from the original Conan the Barbarian film includes 3 head portraits featuring the likeness of Arnold Schwarzenegger with interchangeable hairstyles, allowing for multiple distinct looks from the film. Conan comes complete with battle-ready weapons fit for a conqueror, including the Atlantean sword and sheath, and a dagger – both of which can be stored on his belt. Two snakes are included in unique static poses as well as the severed head of one of Thulsa Doom’s followers. The film follows Conan, a warrior seeking revenge against the evil wizard Thulsa Doom and his cult, who ruthlessly murdered his parents. Along the way, Conan battles enemies and forms alliances in a brutal, mythical world.

Okoye is released in her Dora Milaje armour as seen during her early scenes in Wakanda Forever. Despite the similarities with the 2018 Build-a-Figure, the only direct re-use evident is that of the upper torso piece. The costume is complex as is the onscreen version starting with the upper clothing which is red as a base, although the upper torso is cast in orange with the red and associated grey trim painted over the top. The orange section leads into an ornate sculpted sash with a mixture of brown, green and yellow decor. This then meets the belt and skirt piece with the sash extending downward into the shirt as a softer plastic piece. The rest of the shirt features a light tan brown colour and straps with a darker brown upper segment around the back. Okokye is wearing dark brown leggings, again sculpted in with the geometric pattern, and knee-high boots using the same base brown plastic colour. The armour is finalised with golden bracers, golden shoulder armour, a gold ‘Panther’ belt buckle and gold neck collar with an added flourish of a splayed necklace sitting as an extra piece around the neck. The headsculpt looks similar, if not the same as the 2018 version, and is a good likeness to Danai Gurira. I do probably still prefer the original figure in terms of the facial printing with more natural looking eyes and a crisper series of head tattoos. The newer figure features more prominent eyes, and these almost look like a return to the painted versions, while the head tattoos feature both red and grey colouring, which doesn’t quite allow them to stand out as much. Okoye comes with the same spear and spear-tip sword as included with the 2018 BAF. For the Wakanda Forever release we’ve lost decor with both seapons cast in a plasticly looking silver. The older version had a painted shaft for the spear, and a painted grip for the sword. These fit into either of Okoye’s gripping hands, with sufficient articulation for two handed posing with the spear. No other hands are included in the set. On paper Okoye comes in with 18 points of articulation, and while the legs have been upgraded with pinless joints, the skirt piece restricts them to very limited movement outside of neutral two-footed stances. The arms lack a butterfly joint, but otherwise move well enough with the weaponry in particular. There is a lot of movement in the torso, which helps battle stances. While the neck joint allows for a full range of head movement, although this comes with a very visible neck peg joint.  Considering her 2018 version is similar in design, it was an odd choice to release Okoye again in her Dora Milaje armour for the Wakanda Forever release, particularly in view of the Midnight Angel armour used later in the movie - although this design was probably held back from Hasbro before the movie was released. The new figure offers a backward step on decor for Okoye on the costume and in the accessories, and while articulation looks OK there is a lot of lower leg restrictions due to the long skirt piece. Okoye suffered, as did the others in the wave, from the windowless packaging which has seen her sit at discount pricing under her RRP for some time after release. This being said, visually she is impressive and will certainly brighten up a Wakanda Forever display alongside Namor and Nakia in particular. McFarlane has revealed four new Movie Maniacs releases including a Walmart Collector Con Exclusive of Vault Boy from Fallout as a Gold Label Exclusive. The general releases include Tony Montana from Scarface, Kevin Malone from The Office, and Po from Kung Fu Panda. Each posed 6-inch figurine comes with a static backdrop, display stand and collector card. All the four figures are listed as May 2025 releases. Walmart's US Collector Con event features two new McFarlane DC Multiverse Gold Label Exclusives. Up first is Azrael as seen in Batman: Knightfall. This is the Knightmare Edition in black and gold decor and complete in a closed collector box. It comes with a Black and Gold display stand and a collector card. We then have a Jokerized version of Batman from Dark Knights: Metal. This new variant takes the existing Batman and gives him a Jokerized paint job. The set is in standard DC Multiverse window box packaging complete with scythe accessory and display stand & collector card. You also get a further four Jokerized playing cards. McFarlane has two new Spawn figures joining in their 7-inch line. Up First is a new Spawn The Deviant as seen in Spawn: Rat City. Spawn the Deviant comes with extra hands, two necroplasm effects, soft goods cape, and the usual display base and collector card. He is joined by Robot Wars Spawn who also comes with the display base and collector card. This figure will also feature a Walmart US Exclusive 'Autograph Series' release which will come with "a collectible art card autographed by renowned comic book artist Todd McFarlane, adding extra value and authenticity to this figure." NECA's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles release of Keno & Pizza Delivery Bike from TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze has been listed for sale on the Walmart website in the US as part of the March 13th Walmart Collector Con . The figure was originally an SDCC Exclusive in 2023 and features Keno with two head options, alternative hands, Scooter and Pizza delivery bag. From the 1991 Movie (Secret of the Ooze) - Joining the Turtles in their quest to save the city, Keno is ready for action with his martial arts prowess and street-smart attitude.
