The US Target Exclusive Transformers Studio Series 'More than meets the eye' collection will see the release of updated 1986 movie figures of Optimus Prime and Megatron this year.
Both are updated from their earlier releases with new battle-damaged decor.
Optimus is listed as a Spring release in April 2026, while Megatron will follow in Summer, August 2026. We've added both to our extensive Hasbro Collector Database
One shall stand. One shall fall.
The moment that defined The Transformers: The Movie returns in Studio Series MTMTE Collection form. Optimus Prime and Megatron are back, battle-worn and screen-accurate, celebrating 40 years of the film that changed Transformers forever.
Optimus Prime features movie-inspired battle damage, the Matrix of Leadership, and the scars of his final stand. Megatron answers with brutal deco, heavy firepower, and the presence that made him the Autobots’ greatest enemy. Two Leader Class centerpieces designed to be displayed together — just as fans remember.
Both figures are @Target exclusives, with limited quantities available on #HasbroPulse.

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
