We are about to enter a new era for the Star Wars Black Series, with a big packaging change coming in the 2nd half of 2020.
The Phase 3 Red & Black boxes, that have run since 2015 and The Force Awakens, will cease and a new design will come into play featuring colour coding of the figure in association with the movie. Return of the Jedi releases will be green, Empire Strikes Back are Blue, Mandalorian releases are orange, Clone Wars are yellow and Rebels are purple.
The numbering of general releases is not stopping but will be more subtle on the rear of the box. The numbering will also be done by movie, so Ackbar for example will be ROTJ #01 while Vader will be ESB #01. I've updated the Black Series Database with the new Phase 4 figures and the numbering as we know it so far.
The right hand spine of the box will be a coloured illustration of the character. Releases from the same movie will combine side by side to create a wider montage.

This new 4th Phase of packaging will start with the next wave made up of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker Snowspeeder Pilot from Empire, Admiral Ackbar and Teebo from Return of the Jedi, the Beskar Mandalorian and new Stormtrooper from The Mandalorian and the Kamino Clone Trooper from the Clone Wars.
