As we know, Mattel have lost the DC toy licence for action figures. The collectable 6-inch line is going to McFarlane, while the more kid friendly 4-inch line has gone to Spinmasters.
Spinmasters have unveiled their first 4-inch DC figures, themed around Batman predominantly with an 8 figure line available as of January 2020.
The figures will come blister carded, and each wave will include chase figures. In this wave you will be chasing down the Golden Batman Defender or the Metallic Robin. The other "feature" is that the accessories in the figures are blind bags, so you don't know what you are getting until you open the figure.
The first wave includes Rebirth and Tactical Batman, Robin, The Joker, Nightwing and Man-Bat - as well as the chase figures mentioned. The US price on a full set of 8 is $64 from Entertainment Earth, with singles at $7.99 That puts these in the £8 - £10 per figure bracket here in the UK.
Of course with a smaller line comes the opportunity of vehicles, and the Spinmaster line will launch with two. The first is a Batcycle, complete with figures of Batman and Clayface. The other is the Batmobile with a Batboat that can launch from the back of the vehicle - there is no figure included with this one. These are priced at $17.99 for the Batcycle and $19.99 for the Batmobile.
A line of 12-inch figures and 2-inch blind bag figures are also incoming - definitely Supermarket Toy Aisle type figures we should see the likes of Tesco and Asda embrace here in the UK as well as Smyths and The Entertainer. You can check these out at Entertainment Earth.
