SDCC 2016 : Hasbro, Star Wars

Panel Details

The Hasbro Star Wars panel took place on Friday July 22nd at 12pm PT. This was 8pm UK time.

Panel Reveals

The new figures announced at the Hasbro Star Wars panel were as follows. Commentary and coverage (source) was via Star Wars Action News and Yakface.com

Star Wars Black Series Figure Reveals as follows...

Qui-Gon Jinn

"With force hand. And very tall to scale with Liam Neeson. Hair will be soft PVC so head can turn."

Hera (Rebels)

"Team said the challenge was taking the animation style and make it real to fit with Black Series. Worked with Dave Filoni to get it right."

Tusken Raider

"Can change tips on the gaffi stick to match all 3 seen in A New Hope. Will have soft goods arms and flexible PVC bottom to allow arm and leg posing."

Emperors Royal Guard

"With Crimson Guard armor underneath the robe! I'm jazzed! Love that comic and this figure looks awesome in the pics."

Lando Calrissian

"OVC cape to give the full cape liner detail modeled off the original fabric pattern!"

Obi Wan Kenobi

Obi Wan was tweeted briefly then deleted during the panel. We are not sure at this stage if this was a reference to him arriving as a single figure (which we highly expect) or as a reference to his SDCC exclusive pack which was put on screen and discussed

These figures were added to the Hasbro Star Wars booth after the panel. Images have been taken from Toy Ark, checkout their FULL gallery.

Black Series Helmet Collection

New releases of 2packs will be Sabine & Vader and Boushh and Boba Fett

Black Series Lightsaber

Return of the Jedi Luke's saber

Black Series Fans Choice for 2016

Winner is announced as Jaina Solo - the controversial choice considering the voting tactics that seemed to be going on

Black Series Q+A at the Panel

There are more vehicles coming in 2017 for 6 inch scale

Force Awakens Luke Skywalker is coming in 2017. Was delayed due to how late he was revealed. Takes them 12-18 months to develop a figure

The other snipped (via the Hasbro Breakfast and not the panel) was that earlier waves like the Maul and Luke Pilot wave may be re-released?

3.75" Figures

Fenn Rau (Mandalorian from Rebels)

Grand Admiral Thrawn figure is coming (Rebels)

Hera's A-Wing

Poe vs Stormtrooper 2-pack

3.75" AT-ACT (Rogue One)

The big item for 3.75" fans is an AT-ACT (All Terrain Armoured Cargo Transport)

The vehicle will come with lights and sounds and will really walk - the walking will be controlled via a SmartPhone

It will be packed with 3 figures - Jyn Erso, Shoretrooper and an Astromech

The side panel comes out to create a bunker

The thing will also follow the latest craze in the Star Wars line and fire Nerf darts!

(I am seeing the price of this going up and up as we find out more - this has to be £200)

The figures from the AT-ACT were added to the Hasbro booth display, along with a 3.75" Death Trooper that had not been mentioned at the panel. See gallery and images by Victor Vallejo

3.75" Black Series

Hasbro, when asked, said the line will continue as a Walmart exclusive and to expect Rogue One product in the Fall/Autumn

The following images are from Galactic Hunter and a look round the Hasbro booth at SDCC.

If you take a look at the Black Series wall (image 1) there are 5 empty single figure holders and 1 deluxe holder. These will be filled after the Hasbro Panel later today (8pm UK time)

It was also pleasing to see the New Hope Princess Leia Black Series is back after her disappearing trick at Celebration. She seems to have had "some work done" and is looking much better.
