Rey & Luke SDCC Black Series 2-Pack (SDCC 2017)

Updated: Nov 26, 2018

Rey, Jedi Training & Luke, Jedi Master (The Last Jedi) Star Wars Black Series (Hasbro) Wave/Series : SDCC 2017 Exclusive Released : July 2017

After some frustrating SDCC exclusives that infuriated fans who could not get them (see Boba Fett with Han in Carbonite & Jabba with Throne) Hasbro changed their approach in 2015 somewhat by packing an upcoming figure in special packaging, making the packaging the exclusive element. This went down well for 2015 (First Order Stormtrooper) and 2016 (Jyn Erso) - even though there were other exclusives with extra parts (Ben Kenobi and Kylo Ren).

The same approach was taken this year alongside the Speeder and Thrawn packs and Hasbro took their upcoming Last Jedi figures of Luke Skywalker and Rey and packed them in a new 2-pack packaging exclusive to the show.

The packaging is a folded set with two standard size black series window boxes attached in the centre to fold out and reveal the figures. There is no "back of the box" as such - with the side that faces outward when the packaging is folded decorated with line drawn images of Rey on one side and Luke on the other.

Both spines on the box are a silver tone. The outer facing pieces carry the character names, while the inner section includes the text we usually see on the back of the box. The text for both Luke and Rey are identical to what is printed on their Wave 12 standard box releases.

As both figures are identical to their standard releases - if you want to read about the figures themselves, please click through to the individual reviews below
