NYCC 2026: Star Wars Black Series Dewback and Sandtrooper
As Day 2 of the New York Comic Con got underway, Walmart in the US dropped a brand new Star Wars Black Series release, a new deluxe set of a Dewback and Sandtrooper.
The set repacks the original Dewback, but updates the Sandtrooper to the newer body and variant to the single release with a grey pauldron. You also get the Sandtrooper's backpack, blaster rifle, and electro-staff.
The whole thing is packed into the new 2027 Saga packaging, with a closed box. Outside of the US this is already up for pre-order at Fan Channel retailers and there is an expectation that this will ship in January. The US is quoting early January (as early as the 1st), while the UK retailers are looking at the end of the month.
We've added the new release of the Dewback and Sandtrooper to our extensive Star Wars Collector Database

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
