Character Toys have just released details of some new Doctor Who 5.5 inch product heading to B&M stores.
The new release is another classic Doctor and TARDIS set. This time we return to the 3rd Doctor (Jon Pertwee) era with this set based on his appearance in the 1974 story The Monster of Peladon. The Doctor comes in dark green jacket with bow tie. The TARDIS is recoloured to match the episode and comes with the new base.
The set will retail at £19.99 and should start to arrive at B&M as of Wednesday the 4th March 2020
"Character Options is proud to announce the next batch of products to be released as part of its
Doctor Who master toy line up, with four new sets going on sale in B&M on March 4 th , 2020.
Revived from limited edition lines, these incredibly popular classic collection sets have been refreshed from their original releases with new and exciting features for fans to enjoy.
The Third Doctor & TARDIS from ‘The Monster of Peladon’ (£19.99), will make a welcome return as a 2020 version of the very popular 2018 B&M Third Doctor and TARDIS Set (the
time monster). This set features an exclusive figure of The Third Doctor in a splendid dark bottle green jacket with grey lapels, combined with a dark bow tie, a lime coloured shirt with dark edging and dark grey/brown trousers. The light blue TARDIS comes with standard opening doors and signage, a black phone door and the newer low-profile base. Perfect for all Doctor Who fans and collectors, the set comes beautifully presented in Classic Style Doctor Who heritage packaging with diorama insert card."
Also arriving in B&M stores from 4th March are tweaked re-releases of last years Big Finish Dalek Sets. These will remain priced at £19.99.
The 7th Doctor Set with Axis Dalek now features a hatted 7th Doctor and adarker jacket. The Dalek has been adjusted with silver trim around the central section. The 8th Doctor set features a more weathered jacket on the Doctor with re-painted buttons. The Interrogator Prime Dalek is now a lighter blue and has blue tinge to the metallic dome, central section and lower hemispheres. The War Doctor is also recoloured, now with a red waistcoat and adjusted darker hair and trousers. The Scientist Dalek now has a pewter dome, panels and hemispheres.
While some will bemoan the tweaks, these did sell out very quickly last year so are a good choice to restock and the tweaks gives the 2019 versions a level of exclusivity.
The Press Release concludes with the line that these are four of "many new releases to be announced this year" which has to be good news for Doctor Who Action Figure Collectors.
Also to be released is not one, but three Doctor and Dalek sets each based on the Big Finish Doctor Who audiobooks which have broken boundaries and excited fans.
