As far as I know, there was no big announcement or confirmation of the repacking of the 2014 Godzilla for a 2020 release. The figure is now up on the Target US website and is exclusive to them in the states.
The figure from the 2014 movie remains unchanged, the packaging is however updated to the new closed box with opening front flap and artwork based on the movie poster.
