McFarlane Warhammer 40k Iron Warrior Chaos Marine, Ymgarl Genestealer, and Blood Angels Reiver Sergeant

The next three releases in McFarlane's Warhammer 40k series were revealed last month at the Warhammer Relics Festival. The figures have now gone up for pre-order at Target in the US for a May 2024 release.

The Iron Warriors Chaos Marine is specifically labelled as a Gold Label Exclusive and includes Bolt Pistol, Combat Knife, Power Mace, and Boltgun.

The Blood Angel Reiver Sergeant comes with a Bolt Pistol, Grapnel Launcher, Bolt Carbine, and Combat Knife. We also have a Ymagarl variant of the Genestrealer, a figure that has been released as an Artists Proof - but now comes fully painted. The Genestealer features alternative hands/claws for the upper arms.

The Reiver Sergeant and Genestealer are not labeled as a Gold Label and that likely means it is a general release with a 'first to market' arrangement with Target. Regardless of Exclusivity status in the US, these figures should hit the UK and other territories as general releases to McFarlane stockists via the Regional Importer.

Originally the IVth Space Marine Legion, the Iron Warriors fell to the Ruinous Powers during the Horus Heresy ten millennia ago. Fighting an endless war against the Imperium, they are renowned and feared as specialists in attrition and siege warfare. They advance like a grinding war machine, metal and munitions marching forward beneath the icon of the iron skull, one that strikes fear into the most stalwart defenders.

The Blood Angels, noble Space Marines, are known for their ferocious Red Thirst and Black Rage psychosis. They excel in rapid strikes, but the Reivers take it to the next level, launching brutal assaults with sudden fury and shocking violence. They serve as terror troops, sowing fear and confusion among their foes.

Genestealers are renowned for their ferocity in close combat, armed with diamond-hard claws and inhumanly fast reflexes. Telepathy between broods allows them to function even outside the range of the hive mind. They are an insidious force that seeks to spread its existence to other planets, mutating ignorant populations wherever they're found. By the time the innocent realise their fate, it is often much too late.

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
