McFarlane's Warhammer 40k line is breaking new ground at the moment with new aliens being introduced including the Orks, and now the Genestealers. There will be two versions starting with the Tyranid Genestealer as a fully painted standard release. The second version is an unpainted proof of the Ymgarl Genestealer, presented with a different head to recreate the variant of the species found on Ymgarl. We would hope this gets a fully painted release in a future wave.
The Space Marines will also be bolstered with the Ultramarine Reiver figure who will also come as both a painted release and an unpainted artist's proof. While both figures are identical, a variant weapon - the grapnel launcher - is included with the unpainted version.
The figures go up for pre-order come the 14th of September. The release date is as yet unknown.
Genestealers are legendarily ferocious close combat opponents, with lightning fast reflexes and deadly claws, capable of ripping through adamantium. They have their own brood telepathy enabling them to function outside the range of the hive mind.
