McFarlane to launch 6 inch line of Harry Potter figures

McFarlane have shared the following image on their Facebook page along with the text

" A new brand is joining McFarlane Toys in 2019, and trust us – it’s a keeper. "

Shortly after the image was posted, a full announcement was made via Comicbook.com

McFarlane will be making Harry Potter figures from the first 8 movies starting with the first wave of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley and "he who shall not be named" Voldemort.

The figures sound like they will be in a 6 inch scale, the same as the Game of Thrones figures that McFarlane are about to launch. However, the interpretation of the articles quote on "6 inch to 12 inch" figures could indicate the respective sizes of the children who would be around 6 inches tall in a 7 inch scale line.

Various "beasts" will also be included, starting with Buckbeak the Hippogriff from Prisoner of Azkaban.

“The Wizarding World captures the emotions of its fans unlike any other,” the artist said in a recent statement. “Taking the iconic imagery from the Wizarding World and creating figures for everyone to take home is quite an honor for me.”

The licence does extend to the Fantastic Beasts movie series and the McFarlane team are excited to jump into this line also.

Releases will be planned so that a group of characters compliment each other. That essentially sounds like releases made by movie so the characters are all contemporary to each other.

“You don't want the young Harry, and the older Ron, and stuff. It's on the shelf. So we're gonna try, and as much as possible give some continuity, at least for a couple of the figures. We may do a line where we do two or six figures, and maybe three from one movie, and three from another. And then we'll clearly mark those, so that people will know,”

The line is also going to be price capped so all releases come in under a $25 price tag, which is great news.

The first prototype figures will be on display at Toy Fair 2019 in New York.
