McFarlane Disney Mirrorverse Buzz Lightyear and Captain Jack Sparrow

Updated: Jul 19, 2021

Disney Mirrorverse is n upcoming mobile RPG game that will allow players to assemble a team of Disney & Pixar characters from across the Mirrorverse - each a slightly altered, updated or evolved version of the one we know best.

Despite their links with Diamond Select, Hasbro, and Mattel the Disney team have given the license for action figures for the game to McFarlane and the first two from wave 1 have been revealed via listings in the US on the Walmart website.

The Mirrorverse figures include the usual 7-inch scale in a window box, and a 5-inch line in a clamshell. The 7-inch line will start with Buzz Lightyear and Jack Sparrow, both coming complete with a display stand and a collectible card of some description that may link back to the game. We have not yet seen the 5-inch figures but know from wholesaler listings that these include Mickey Mouse, Belle, Goofy, and Sully.

The style of the game and therefore the figures is similar to the old Disney Infinity game and the current Toy Box line in Disney stores. There looks to be a lot of variants planned too with each character having a different class or skill - we can see Jack Sparrow for example is listed as "support" with another Jack on the box reverse listed as "fractured"

Courageous and dutiful, Buzz Lightyear is far from your average plaything. This brave Space Ranger's super-charged suit is outfitted with an arsenal of the latest Star Command tech in the Mirrorverse, including lasers and an armor-blasting arm cannon.

In the Mirrorverse, Captain Jack Sparrow’s life rises and falls with the tides – blessed with incredible luck, yet burdened by numerous curses. But Stellar Magic has allowed him to turn these things to his advantage, channeling the power of his curses to help his allies and harm his foes, all in roguish defense of the Mirrorverse.

About Me : As a child of the 70's and 80's I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force) and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licences - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
