EB Games in Canada have given us a full look at two new McFarlane DC Collector Edition Platinum Red Edition figures. These are a new 'Red Lantern' release of Guy Gardner and a Justice Society of America release of Mister Terrific.
Red Platinum figures are a newer format for McFarlane and are not exclusive as such but very limited, almost Chase releases of specific characters as opposed to the Platinum Edition variations on an existing character.
Guy Gardner 'Red Lantern' comes with three face plates, alternative hands, a red lantern, and the usual display base and collector card. Mister Terrific also includes three face plates, a trio of effect pieces, and the stand and card.
At this point there is no firm release date listed for either, so it is expected to be June or July. We've added both figures to our extensive McFarlane Collector Database
Guy took Atrocitus’ Red Lantern™ ring and joined a new corps, where he could channel his anger. He later returned to life as a Green Lantern™.
The pre-Flashpoint Michael Holt lost his wife in an accident and was visited by the Spectre, who told him about the Golden Age Mister Terrific (Terry Sloane). This inspired Holt to become a Super Hero and continue the Mister Terrific legacy. He became the chairman of the Justice Society of America and developed a friendly rivalry with Batman. In an ironic twist, the post-Flashpoint Michael Holt was captured by Earth-2’s Mister Terrific, Terry Sloan, when he was stranded in that reality.

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
