IGN has revealed the next figure in Hasbro's GI Joe Classified line as Cobra Commander. The 6 inch Commander is a reimagining of the classic figure into a modern setting and the new 6 inch scale.
He will include a gun, sword and two additional hand options. The Commander is down for a September 2020 release.
There was an opportunity to get a limited number of the figures early by means of shopping app NTWRK. Fans were however not happy that NTWRK initially used an image of a lighter blue Cobra Commander with gold trim as their promo image. After all orders were placed they then advised they'd been sent the wrong images and everyone would be getting the standard version.
This leaves the context of the variant as yet unknown. As a variant it would be a candidate for an SDCC 2020 exclusive - and with that show now cancelled, it may be looking for a new avenue?
