Revealed today by Character Toys is the first Doctor Who Vortex Edition Release for 2026, Tegan Jovanka, alongside a destroyed Dalek. This Fifth Doctor era set gives us a brand new Tegan figure from Resurrection of the Daleks with two accessories: a Dalek Trooper Gun and a Movellan virus canister.

The Destroyed Dalek is a Resurrection-style Dalek with a black and grey colour scheme, an exploded dome section and visible Dalek mutant and 'goop' within.

The set is available for immediate dispatch exclusively from the Character Toys online store in the UK. The retail price is £44.99 with free UK shipping. It utilises the established Vortex Edition window box packaging with the blue colouring for the Fifth Doctor era and a diorama cardboard backing card depicting the set from Resurrection.

This limited-edition “Vortex” set comes with two figures, and two accessories. The Tegan Figure is intricate in its styling and stands 13.7cm tall, with multiple articulation points consisting of ankles, knees, hips, waist, shoulders, elbows and neck. She comes in the outfit seen in 1984’s iconic story ‘Resurrection Of The Daleks’. Her accessories consist of a Dalek Trooper gun, as used by Commander Lytton’s Dalek squad, as well as a Movellan virus canister. Also included is a destroyed ‘Resurrection’ style Dalek, with a blasted and scorched casing, Internal life support tank, splattered with bright green Dalek ‘Gloop’ and showing mutant Dalek creature within.

The set comes beautifully presented in open presentation box packaging with insert and is the perfect piece of memorabilia to add to any Doctor Who collection.

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
