Character Toys has revealed a full slate of exclusive releases for their 5.5 inch Doctor Who line, starting in July and running until November 2026.
The sets include modern Who figures like the Nightmare in Silver Cybermen 2-Pack, and the 15th Doctor with Mr. Ring-and-Ding and Dugga Doo. The 15th Doctor in this New Who set is the existing figure updated to the Joy to the World (2024) episode while Dugga Doo from the Intergalactic Song Contest and Mr Ring-a-Ding from Lux (both 2025) are new posed figures.
Classic Who fans can look forward to Liz Shaw (debut in the line), who is wearing the outfit from the Silurians (1970). She will be in a 3rd Doctor 'Season Seven' box set with a Primord from Inferno (1970) and a couple of accessories, including a Metebelis III Crystal.
There is also a new 4th Doctor with a soft goods scarf wearing an outfit we think might be for Shada (1979), and the Wirrn and larvae from The Ark in Space (1975).
And if all that wasn't enough, each release comes with a build-a-figure part allowing you to assemble the Yeti from The Abominable Snowmen (1967). This is a new Yeti figure from the one shown as a leak many years ago from Web of Fear.
The release schedule for these new sets is as follows:-

You can register to be notified of the set releases at the Character Toys website. Registering now will give you advance access to order set one, and as you order each set you are given early access to the next release.
"Registered fans are the first to hear when Set 1 becomes available to the public. Each purchase unlocks exclusive early access ahead of general release to the next set—buy Set 1 for early access to Set 2, Set 2 to access Set 3, continuing through all five sets. After early access, each set will be released for general sale."
It is understood that, as per the usual process, these will be available to ship at the point of release and are exclusive to the Character Toys website. We've added these to our extensive Doctor Who Collector Database for reference.
“Something bigger and better with a modern take”
Al Dewar, Creative Director, Character Options, said:
“This is a very interesting year for the Character Options Doctor Who range. It’s the first time we’ve introduced a Collect & Build figure for over a decade and a half. Plus, for the very first time we are showcasing the sets that we will be releasing up front!
“The Collect & Build Yeti figure should be a great surprise to most folk. Yes… it’s been well known for years that we created a Yeti sculpt for the ‘1968 Web of Fear’ version but when we examined that sculpt, we realised the scale was wrong and some minor damage had occurred. So, it seemed sensible to go back further to where it all started, up in Tibet, near the ‘Det Sen’ Monastery in 1967, with the original Abominable Snowmen. The Yetis are ‘big ole beasts!’ and I think we’ve brought something bigger and better with a modern take that lends itself well to articulation and play.
“Of course, the Collect & Build figure is just one of many things to look forward to, with five stunning new figure sets coming through - all upgraded to Vortex levels. Even the pre-existing Liz Shaw figure has been refined to be as good as it can be! The team has put their all into getting everything ready in time, and we can’t wait to bring the collectors something that’s so completely different.”
Further information on the collection is now available on the Character Options website, where fans can also register to receive pre‑launch updates. More details on each Collect & Build set will be revealed in the lead‑up to each release, with the first set launching from July 2026.

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
