We aren't asking for any money as the website is self funded...

However, we have hit some substantial issues this year in sharing our content, thanks to the way social media is currently operating, despite being active on all the main networks for over 10-years since we launched in 2014.

Having built up a large Facebook following for 10-years, we found our Meta account hacked as part of a targeted attack on the wider site in the Spring. While most access attempts were blocked, they did get into our Meta account despite us getting the notification someone had accessed our account and teling Meta it wasn't us and started the recovery process. Despite this, because the hacker then posted inappropriate material, Meta's response was to ban all our Meta accounts. This included my personal account full of family contacts, photos, and memories, as well as the website.

After 4 months of trying to speak to someone at Meta, we have been unable to regain control. What makes matters worse is our original Facebook page remains active, with our access to it blocked. That means anyone finding that page through browsing or a search thinks we stopped our coverage in April 2025, as that is when our news & posts ceased.

Along with the Facebook ban, our profile on Instagram was also deleted in full - again deleting years of contents and posts.

We have now also been contacted by YouTube who have this week confirmed our channel doesn't have a 'sufficient channel history' and we have lost access to many features, including our ability to link our website to our videos directly. We have also seen a substantial drop off in views, which have always been modest, but the drop over the last two weeks is substantial, and most of our showcase videos are now only reaching single figure views.

While our website is now our biggest source of traffic, like any organisation, we still have to rely on the social media channels to spread our content. So the ask is this...

If you do appreciate our work to bring you news and reviews from the action figure world, and our relatively unique UK-based focus, then please consider the following

Give us a like and a follow on Facebook (our new page), and shares are also appreciated

You could do the same on X (Twitter)

We are also exploring BlueSky as a new avenue for social interactions, any likes and follows in this space are much appreciated too

And on YouTube, any channel subscriptions and video likes & comments are most welcome

To manage our storage costs, news article images are archived after 12-months. Accept our apologies if you have reached this news article, and the images are no longer available

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
