Diamond Select Toys : Lord of the Rings

The big news from Diamond was the launch of a new 7 inch Select action figure line based on the Lord of the Rings movies. The team had a number of figures on show that represented the first three waves.

Wave 1 will include Legolas and Gimli and is likely a later Summer 2020 release. This will be followed by Wave 2 in the Autumn, Aragorn and the Nazgul. The third wave is Frodo Baggins and a Moria Goblin and these will most likely now be an early 2021 release.

If you collect all three waves you will collect the parts for a Sauron Build-a-Figure.

Diamond Select Toys : The Last Airbender

Series 2 and 3 of Diamond Select's Last Airbender figures were on display at New York Toy Fair.

The new figures for Series 2 include a revised version of Aang with his Airbender staff, Azula and Toph Belfong. Series 3 has another Aang with elemental FX pieces alongside Soph and Firelord Ozai.

DC Direct

DC Collectibles has now returned to its original name of DC Direct and it was showing off some new DC Action Figures at New York Toy Fair 2020.

Joining the DC Essentials 1:10 scale line is a new Justice League set of 6 figures, bringing the original Justice League line up of Superman, Batman, Aquaman, The Flash, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman in the 7 inch scale.

In the Adventures Continues line - an extension of Batman the Animated Series figures - we have new figures of Talon (not shown), Thomas Wayne Batman, Batgirl and Tim Drake Robin. These will all be in the 1:12 (6 inch) scale.

News out of the Mezco booth at New York Toy Fair 2020 was pretty subdued - although they did reveal two new figures in the shape of Thanos (Marvel) and Two Face (DC) ahead of the show.

In the booth we get a good look at the 1989 Michael Keaton Batman, as well as the Marvel figures of Gambit and Spider-Man.

Mezco do also now have a licence for Alien and Predator and had new figures of each on display. The Alien is the Big Chap from 1979 while the Predator looks to be the original Jungle Hunter with removable face plate.

Other reveals included a Morbius - an obvious choice considering the Sony movie arriving in 2020 - and a Ghost Rider with his motorbike.

There was also news of another new licence in the shape of Planet of the Apes, with a Doctor Zaius figure in attendance.

Super7 : Thundercats

The third wave of Super7's Thundercats Ultimates line was on display at New York Toy Fair 2020. Like the previous two waves, it is made up of four figures.

Joining the Thundercats core team is Cheetara. And alongside her will be Jaga. For the bad guys we have Captain Cracker and Slithe.

Well Played Toys : Lost In Space

One of the better kept secrets of Toy Fair 2020 was over at the Well Played Toy booth. They had confirmed last year a licence to produce action figures for Lost in Space - both the new Netflix series and the classic series.

Well Played will be releasing a 4 inch and a 6 inch line and the first figures were on show at Toy Fair 2020. The 6 inch line will include figures of The Robot, Dr Smith, Don West, John Robinson, Maureen Robinson, Penny Robinson, Judy Robinson and two versions of Will Robinson. There were also mockups for a Scarecrow. Each of the 6 inch figures is packed in a window box.

Storm Collectibles : Gears of War

Two new Storm Collectible figures for Gears of War have been fully unveiled at New York Toy Fair courtesy of the Bluefin booth.

The Locust Drone will land first in July 2020 followed by the Warden in September.

Mattel : Jurassic Park

Mattel have released a huge set of images for brand new Dinosaurs that will be joining their Jurassic World line in 2020. The new releases include some product from Camp Cretaceous, the brand new Netflix show coming later this year.

As usual the figures are split into types such as the smaller Attack Pack £10 dinos, the larger massive biters and savage strikes and the sound strike Dinosaurs with built in sound FX. There is even a new Super Colossal Indominus Rex to face off against last years Super Colossal T-Rex.

Sadly, there was no news on any future Jurassic World 6 inch Amber Collection Figures
