McFarlane Mortal Kombat

McFarlane were on a mission this week revealing some big updates to the Mortal Kombat Roster in 2021. Up first were figures of Shao Kahn and Liu Kang. We knew both figures were incoming, but these reveals were actually variants with Shao Kahn in his Platinum Kahn outfit and Liu Kang in his Fighting Abbot outfit. This likely means that these will be exclusive with the general releases of both characters still to be solicited.

The next reveal was a new figure in the shape of Kabal from Mortal Kombat 11 complete with his twin axe blades. Kabal will be a Summer 2021 release.

And joining Kabal in Summer 2021 is a Mortal Kombat 11 release of Noob Saibot with his curved blade.

The wave of Zartan and the Cobra Infantry Trooper will also include repacks of Scarlett and Roadblock (originally seen in Wave 1) and while these figures retain their original numbering, they come with some significant paint app updates.

Marvel Legends

The Hasbro Marvel Legends team held their final Fan First Livestream of the Year on the 4th of December. The livestream started with a reveal of a single Fox movie Deadpool that will be an Amazon Exclusive. The paintwork is updated to a darker looker, hinting at the X-Force look from the end of Deadpool 2. The item is already up for pre-order at Amazon with a 2021 release.

The Walgreens/EB Games line for 2021 will be themed around Cosmic characters and we can look forward to Fallen Silver Surfer and a new Nova figure to kick this off.

This Weeks Action Figure Reviews...

About Me : As a child of the 70's and 80's I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force) and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licences - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
