SatTOYday Roundup : Issue 142

Happy #SatTOYday everyone!

In this week's issue we have some new product on the horizon from Jakks Pacific with a new line of Apex Legends 6 inch figures incoming for October. We also have new Bandai product in their Warhammer 40k line, with two gorgeous looking Space Marines unveiled for 2021 release.

We then have a spread of news from the usual suspects with a new Marvel Legends Retro figure from Hasbro. Some Fortnite, Spawn and DC Multiverse from McFarlane. And the usual variety from NECA - including confirmation of a new licence for The Boys.

Hasbro Pulse Con

The main news out of Hasbro this week was that of Hasbro Pulse Con, a virtual convention taking place on the Hasbro Pulse YouTube channel on the 25th and 26th of September. The event will feature unboxings and new product reveals and the previously announced exclusives originally destined for SDCC 2020 will be sold at the time of the event via Hasbro Pulse - for US and Canada customers. No word yet on UK availability.


Marvel Legends Doctor Doom

It wasn't quite the 1st Monday of September, but Hasbro went ahead with Marvel Monday anyway on the 31st of August and unveiled a Retro Carded Doctor Doom figure for the Marvel Legends line. Doom will feature a wide range of accessories including books, FX parts and the Ultimate Nullifier weapon. He is the first Marvel Legend to feature soft goods. Doctor Doom can be pre ordered now and has a 1st November release date


Jakks Pacific Apex Legends

Jakks Pacific are releasing a new line of 6 inch highly articulated figures from the Apex Legends video game. The first wave will be released in October and will be made up of Bloodhound with his Raven and a Shotgun, Pathfinder with two rifle weapons and a lenticular chest screen, and Wraith with two pistol options and a PDW.


Bandai Warhammer 40k

The Bandai line of Warhammer 40k Space Marines is getting its next two Space Marines in 2021 with Primaris Intercessors from the Imperial Fists and the Salamanders joining the already released Ultramarine figure. The two new Marines will be on pre-order on the 12th of September for just one week - and everyone who orders will be guaranteed a figure as Bandai wont limit the numbers like the first figure and will produce enough to fulfill all pre-orders.


NECA Gremlins

The NECA Back to School Gremlin, based on the 1984 marketing material, is due out shortly and this week NECA showed off the packaging design for the release.


NECA DeLorean

Another packaging reveal from NECA was this look at the box for their upcoming Back to the Future DeLorean Time Machine. This is a 6 inch vehicle and not in scale for the figures that will be arriving soon. Is is along the same lines as the older Cinemachines line.


NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

NECA announced two new TMNT releases this week, starting with their largest accessory pack ever with the 1990 Movie Turtles accessory Set. As well as alternative heads for all the 7 inch Turtles, the pack includes scaled baby turtles, spinning nunchuck hand for Michelangelo and straw hat for Donatello. Also included are a street sign, newspaper, damaged Shredder helmet, Mutagen container, pizza box, TV, newspaper, snacks, turtles wax, manhole cover and a stuffed panda. The set will be a pre order from 4th to 11th of September at NECA Store and will then ship out by the end of the year


Also confirmed, and being sold via the NECA Store, is a TMNT Cartoon version of the Diorama Street Scene. This will feature various paper effect pieces to stick to the walls to customise the set and the backing piece can be reversed to show either nighttime or daytime city scenes.


NECA The Boys

It was confirmed this week that NECA are now licenced by Sony Entertainment for their Amazon show, The Boys and will be making 7 inch action figures from the show. Confirmed in the press release were figures of Homelander and Starlight - with further product mentioned based on Laser Baby, although this was not specifically listed as being a figure.


NECA Godzilla

The NECA re-release of the 2014 Godzilla has now been listed on the Target system in the US and has started to show up in stores. The figure is a repack but he packaging is updated to the new closed box style with opening front flap and artwork from the movie poster. No word on availability outside the US as yet.


McFarlane Fortnite

Big Mouth was shown off early this year by McFarlane and has now been listed on Amazon for pre-sale and will arrive in the final 3-months of 2020. The set features The Council of Frogs back bling as well as Harvesting Tool and Boom Bow.

Also listed is the Deluxe Lavawing Glider, which will include boost pad and display stand. It too is a final quarter release


McFarlane DC Multiverse

Following on from last week's McFarlane DC Multiverse reveals was the promo images and details for the two pack of Earth 52 Red Death Batman and the Flash. The set includes the usual individual bases and art cards, and then has a larger diorama base that can be used to display both figures together. The set is up for pre order now with a 30th October release date.



McFarlane have more Spawn figures planned for us, and in a video by Todd McFarlane this week two versions of Mandarin Spawn were shown off - a standard red version and a blue version that will be a Gold Label Release in Walmart stores


The day following the video, McFarlane released the promotional image for the Gold Label Mandarin Spawn and confirmation pre orders will open in October for an early 2021 release
