SatTOYday Roundup : Issue 131

Happy #SatTOYday everyone!

Hasbro opened and closed this weeks action figure news, starting with a Star Wars live stream and reveals on Monday - and ending with a GI Joe live stream and reveals on Friday.

In between Entertainment Earth showed off more SDCC 2020 exclusives heading to their site for sale rather than the cancelled convention. This week the reveals were from Mattel including a new Mr. T in their WWE line and a Jurassic Park Dennis Nedry. In other news NECA revealed more of their Lost Tribe Predators for the 30th Anniversary of Predator 2. And Super7 unveiled the third wave of their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ultimates line.

Only one review from me this week... but it is a doozy as I take a good look at the brand new Star Wars Black Series Snowspeeder.

Star Wars Black Series Reveals

Hasbro held another live stream this week for Star Wars collectors, and unveiled the 3rd wave of Empire Strikes Back Vintage carded 6 inch figures. The wave includes repacks of the Snowtrooper, with some colour updates, and Chewbacca as previously seen in the two pack with C-3PO. Boba Fett gets another re-release, this is the same figure from the original orange series and the Archive Wave 1. The upcoming Empire Darth Vader will arrive first on a 40th card, as will the new Dagobah Luke ahead of his box set release with Yoda.

The other news was the confirmation that the Hoth Rebel Trooper - as seen in Wave 2 of the 40th Anniversary line this year - will get a boxed general release later this year as part of the new packaging waves.

It was also finally confirmed that Clone Commander Cody was the winner of the recent Fan's Vote, and he would be included in an Archive Wave next year.

This Weeks Action Figure Reviews...

About Me : As a child of the 70's and 80's I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force) and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licences - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
