Spider-Man joins MCU in Action Figure Form

Anyone who has seen the trailer or the movie, Captain America : Civil War, will know that a deal has been struck for Spider-Man to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It seems this will also translate to Spider-man being marketed as part of MCU toy ranges.

At this stage his only appearance seems to be in the 2.5" Miniverse range from Hasbro where he has shown up in one of those multi-packs. The original red boxed 9 pack is currently being sold here in the UK. Spider-Man is part of a blue box with 8 figures, and with Ant-Man and Spider-Man debuting in the 2.5" scale. Spider-Man is flagged as a special edition in this set.

The 2.5" Miniverse is certainly not a standard collectors scale, and it isn't really setting retail alight - with many sets still hanging round from both Guardians and Age of Ultron. It is however the one range that has the most depth in terms of representing nearly every key hero from the last 4 Marvel movies. Let us hope that Hasbro will carry Spider-Man, and the other under represented heros, through to their Legends range at some stage.
